Protagonists

The main protagonist of the series, Spencer is a clever, inventive 14 year old kid who aspires to one day become a famous movie producer. Until that day, however, he makes B-List horror movies with his friends. Though he often gets into trouble due to his and Billy’s antics, this also helps him mature as a person.

The supporting protagonist of the series, Billy was once a superstar musician who rocked the charts with his hits. before dying an untimely death and becoming a ghost. Since then he haunts his former mansion, and once he develops a friendship with his distant cousins Spencer, he takes it upon himself to teach how to fit in to the glamorous California lifestyle. which he will repeatedly mess up for various reasons. He is hyperactive, a bit of diva, and has an ego so large it could dwarf a small planet.

Antagonists

A mysterious woman who not only is aware of the mechanism that it makes Billy visible to human eyes; but is also seeking to catch the ghost, and keep keep him in a jar as part of her extend collection of Billy Joe Cobra memorabillia

A mysterious older man working for Madame X who’s tasked with the job of capturing Billy Joe Cobra and returning him to his mistress. Due to Madame X he also knows the secret to see Billy, and wears his underwear to do so. He’s a bit bumbling, and messes up most of his successful captures, but he tries.

The principal of Spencer’s high school, he is a militant man who hates Spencer with a passion and takes pleasure out of making his life miserable. He will do anything to get him expelled from school, even if he’s being unfair and unreasonable in the process.

The star athlete of Spencer’s school, Kleet also hates Spencer with a burning passion, and will do whatever it takes to make his life miserable. Thick-headed and driven by anger, he’s sometimes The Dragon to Principal Ponzi.

A rich, spoiled, popular girl with a stereotypical valley girl accent. She doesn’t like Spencer or his friends, as they usually stand up to her conceited and ‘popular’ attitude or just plain annoy her (mostly via Spencer’s horror movies or Rajeev’s flirting).

Lolo’s muscular bodyguard. He appears whenever Lolo needs some dirty work done.

Other Characters

Spencer’s best friend and lead actor, Rajeev is likable, funny character who helps out Spencer with his movies by playing the lead actor. He can see Billy Joe Cobra by wearing a belt that once belonged to him.

Spencer’s friend and Rajeev’s sister. She is much more level-headed than her brother and is often the voice of common sense between the two. She wears a pink bracelet that used to belong to Billy in order to see the him. She also has a secret crush on Spencer.

A pretty, popular girl who Spencer has a crush on. She is extremely nice and friendly, and appears to like Spencer as well.

Bobby is an obsessive, geeky ghost and a major antagonist whose only appearance involved harassing Billy Joe Cobra. He was later caught by Sam Hoover, who mistook him for Billy Joe due him changing his appearance. He was last seen latching himself onto Hoover the same way he latched himself onto Billy.

Personality

Bobby initially comes across as a nice guy. He is very eager to please and is very insistent on spending time with new people. Spencer assumes that he is harmless when he first meets him, and even the unnerved Billy sees him as little more than a nuisance.

However, when people talk badly about him behind his back, Bobby becomes vengeful and frightening. This is shown in Copycat Cobra, when he uses Billy’s knowledge against him and locks him into a freezer, then later demands that Spencer Wright replace Billy with himself.

He isn’t very good at being «chill.» Instead of treating Billy like a person, he flew around obsessing over him; in fact, Billy Joe even took the time to point out that he needs to calm down. However, his only response was stating that he didn’t know how to, prompting Billy to teach him «the art of being chill». Later, he really wasn’t good at being chill after having his evil plan thwarted by Billy, despite all of Billy’s teaching.

Bobby is also a very good learner. When he first met Billy, he knew that in order for Spencer to see him, he had to give him his retainer. By the time he became evil, he was capable of making himself visible to anyone who doesn’t have his gear and producing «ecto-bombs», something which Billy couldn’t do despite being being as ghostly as him. His vast knowledge of ghosts could be a result of him being a ghost for a very long time, perhaps even longer than Billy.

Bobby makes for a very formidable opponent, despite his geeky and weak appearance. Only Hoover’s capturing him made him harmless; otherwise, he would’ve likely obliterated Billy.

Billy Joe Cobra

Oh, no! Billy, get away!

Bobby seems to legitimately be a Billy Joe Cobra fan. At first, he is overly enthusiastic about meeting Billy and is incapable of «chilling» around him. Much of his time is spent trying to please Billy and get him to hang out with him. Bobby is visibly happy around him.

After he overhears Billy talking about him, Bobby starts to hate Billy. And after he gets revenge by trapping Billy in a freezer, he tries to replace Billy as Spencer’s friend (showing that he actually covets Billy’s lifestyle postmortem). He later tries to destroy Billy with ecto-bombs and other ghostly weapons, but Hoover stops him before he can.

Spencer Wright

Bobby apparently takes well to Spencer. Since Spencer tries to have Billy hang out with Bobby throughout the episode, he likes Spencer and has no quarrel with him. Later, after he turned vengeful, Bobby tries to become Billy’s replacement, (presumably because he either wants to have a friend like Spencer, or wants to rub his revenge in Billy’s face).

Sam Hoover

Bobby isn’t shown interacting with Hoover much. However, towards the end of the episode, Bobby states that he wants to become «just like [Hoover]», suggesting that he’s going to latch onto Hoover the same way he latched onto Billy.

Madame X has purple hair, pale skin, and a gap between her front teeth. Her full face has never been shown.

Interestingly, none of the other characters know what she looks like, either. Billy’s photos of her only involve her lower face and hands.

Personality

Madame X seems to be a very cruel and selfish individual, seeing as she constantly mistreats Sam Hoover and has a desire to kidnap and store away Billy’s ghost for her own purposes. She doesn’t seem to regard others’ feelings in any way, shape, or form.

Madame X moving on to «healthier pursuits».

Most evidenced by her feelings toward Billy, she has an incredibly obsessive and possessive nature. This aspect of her personality is not limited to Billy alone, as seen in Billy’s Achilles, wherein she attempts to trap Hugh Wright in her estate after he acted as her life coach.

She appears to know the rules regarding ghosts, outfitting Hoover in Billy’s underwear. Perhaps she has even more knowledge than that, as she also equipped Hoover with a fully-functioning ghost containment gun.

Madame X may be a Southern belle. While Hugh was acting as her life coach, she had corn growing in her lair, she played the banjo, and she was shown milking a cow.

Billy Joe Cobra

Though Madame X herself can barely be seen from behind her large chair, it is apparent that she is a huge BJC fan. Her walls are covered in posters of Billy, her earrings are in the shape of Billy’s face, and she knows every single obscure trivia fact about him, including his favorite animal, favorite food, and all the statistics regarding Billy’s hit singles.

She is so crazy about Billy, she wants to capture him and put him in a jar as the crown jewel of her collection. Luckily for Billy, she never succeeds.

Sam Hoover

Nothing appears to irritate Madame X more than seeing her henchman fail at his job of collecting Billy. She has always been cruel to Sam, threatening to put him back on a diet of cat food if he does not succeed and yelling at him when Spencer Wright manages to foil their plans.

Regardless, Hoover seems to be incredibly devoted to her, suggesting that he thinks there is something good about her. (No other character on the show would agree with him.)

Lolo is actually considered to be fairly cute, but as soon as she opens her mouth, anyone can tell that she’s an uptight snob. She does everything in her power to make sure that the «losers» of Beverly Beverly High don’t win anything ever (e.g., manipulating fellow students so she can win a school presidential election). Spencer Wright can’t stand her on account of how cruel she can be to anyone she doesn’t like.

Interestingly, she’s almost as narcissistic as Billy Joe Cobra is, but she doesn’t make up for it the way Billy does. instead, she’s even more self-absorbed than the pampered rock star. Her narcissism is, more likely than not, a side effect of being spoiled by her incredibly rich father.

However, despite her nastiness, Lolo isn’t always pure evil in a designer dress. She is sometimes seen chatting with her friends about shopping or driving around in her limo, and occasionally even participates in school activities such as the talent show and signup day volunteering. (of course, she bribes Ponzi so she can win the former and gets pranked by Spencer during the latter).

When she temporarily falls in love with Spencer in «Lolo In Love», she is incredibly clingy and assertive. Even if Spencer doesn’t want to go out with her, she takes him everywhere and insists he go with her on vacation. However, she isn’t a better person because of this: she is still very mean to Rajeev all the while.

Rajeev’s Crush

One of Lolo’s most common problems is Rajeev. Rajeev has a major crush on her, and he can’t see a single flaw in Lolo’s pretty face, even when she is being mean to him. This makes him hit on her more than she can tolerate.

«If you’ll just give me your info, I’d like to enter you in our grand-prize drawing for an all-expenses-paid date with me!»

Despite his unappreciated persistence, Lolo says she «doesn’t really hate [him]. somewhat», showing that she might actually be somewhat flattered by Rajeev’s courting.
