According to the data, the teenagers in Zetland have quite a wide range of tastes when it comes to book genres. It is clear, that the vast majority of the respondents enjoy reading adventure novels as well as detective stories (55.4% and 55.3% respectively). Sports stories are also quite popular with the teenage readers (49.2%), whereas romantic novels appear to be at the bottom of the table.
It is worth mentioning that animal stories are two time less preferable than adventure novels. To my mind, books about animals are written mostly for little children, not for teenage readers.
Statistics reveal one problem connected with reading. Obviously, there are no classical books in the table. Thus, teenagers in Zetland prefer reading books for relaxation than broadening their horizons. One solution to this problem is to organize discussing clubs for the adolescents there they can meet professors and theater actors, read together and read serious books. Live communication encourages better than boring lessons.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that reading is significant for teenagers. I hope the adolescents will be able to learn more reading different book genres. (245 words)
40.2 Many people believe that smartphones have become an essential part of modern life. The aim of the project I am working on is to find out what people use their smartphones for in Zetland. As part of my project, I have found and analyzed some relevant data presented in the diagram.
According to the data, there is quite a wide range of reasons when it comes to using smartphones. It is clear, that the vast majority of the respondents enjoy emailing as well as making phone calls (79% and 78% respectively). Surfing the internet is also quite popular with the smartphone users (58%), whereas paying for purchases appears to be at the bottom of the table.
It is worth mentioning that smartphones are used for playing computer games less often than for emailing. To my mind, it is comfortable to be in touch everywhere when it comes to business. At the same time, gaming is the most popular pastimes among teenagers.
One problem that people often face using smartphones is the poor quality of signal in some areas. It is very crucial nowadays due to the internet is necessary for using all options that modern devices provide. One solution to this problem is to create free Wi-Fi zones in public places, such as libraries, railway stations, parks where people can spend their time effectively and gain access to the internet for free.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that smartphones play a significant role in our life. I hope people will use them wisely.

With so many kinds (genres) of books/ ebook categories available, it is sometimes tricky to make the right choice.
Before selecting your book (ebook/ audiobook), it is advisable to choose your favourite genre (author).
Reading the bestseller lists published in most newspapers or weekly magazines is a good idea.
Find out which new books are making headlines, and why.
The book’s title may not encourage teenagers (people) to read the book.
Based solely on the cover, a person may overlook a book simply because the cover appears plain or uninteresting to them.
Selecting a book by its title is like judging a book by its cover. Reading the summary (book reviews/ or listening to an outside source) may help you to know whether the book is a page-turner or not.
If you are in a book shop, you may ask a book seller to help you.
Checking the star rating on a book, or what rewards it has, may help you choose the book to spark your interest.

40.1. Music is important in many people’s lives and is vital for relaxation. It also encourages creativity, can educate people on serious topics such as mental health and feelings. My project, which I am still working on, is aimed at finding out what music genres are popular in the modern world. I have found some data on this issue and organised it in the table below.
I can identify two main features of the statistics presented in the table. The first one is that more than a fifth of people prefer alternative rock, making this genre the single most popular one. The second feature is that only 4.1% of people reported rap to be their favourite, putting this genre at the bottom of the table.
It is also worth mentioning that alternative rock is only slightly more popular than folk music, with only 0.6% more people who prefer it.
In my opinion, the statistics in the table reveal an important problem. We can see that the table does not feature classical music, which is extremely important for the cultural education of every person. I think that in order to solve this problem schools focus more on musical education.
In conclusion, I believe that music is an essential part of the modern social world. It is also educational and enlightening, as well as something that can help develop creative skills.
40.2. Books are an important aspect of people’s lives and are a vital source of knowledge. Nowadays it is becoming even more common to see ebooks and audiobooks, which have taken a toll on the popularity of books. My project, which I am still working on, is aimed at finding out the sales of books in the UK. I have found some data on this issue and organized it in the chart below.
I can Identify two main features of the statistics presented in the chart. The first one is that the sales of books in 2011 were the highest sales of books in the UK at around 350 millions. The second feature is that the sales dropped tremendously in 2013 to 180 millions.
It is also worth mentioning that from 2013 to 2015 there was only a slight increase of sales by 10 millions.
In my opinion, the statistics in the chart reveal an important problem. In the table there is no mention of different forms of books, such as ebooks and audiobooks. I think that in order to solve this problem there should be an integration of the data recollected around book sales regarding ebooks and audiobook sales.
In conclusion, I consider that a way of making use of the data revolving around the number of sales books have can be used to redirect the production to the kind of books with the higher number of sales.

It goes without saying that reading is an extremely important part of a student’s education. It provides them with opportunities to enhance their IQ as well as have a lot of fun. The current project focuses on the types of books teenagers tend to read nowadays.
The information provided in this table is about reading topics that teenagers read. As it is evident from the pie chart the majority of adolescents, accounting for more than a half, read adventure stories. The next popular activities are reading detectives and sport stories. The figures are 55.3% and 49.2% respectively. The table plainly indicates that few teenagers read animal stories and romance. The former accounts for 27.2 % and the latter stands at 17.6%.
In comparing the data given in the table, it becomes obvious that almost three times more teenagers read adventure stories than romance. A significant different number of teenagers, with a difference of 22 %, read sport stories and animal stories.
The table clearly illustrates that adolescents mostly read adventure and detective stores. A lack of historical books might cause some problems. One of them is historical illiteracy. It is a serious problem since people who do not know their history cannot be considered cultured. They easily get influenced by harmful ideas of modern subcultures and can ruin their lives quickly. One of the probable solutions to this problem is organizing hobby groups for learning about the world and Russian history. To sum up, adventure and detective reading is a priority with teens. In my personal opinion, reading should play a significant role in humans’ lives. Such reading improves a person’s IQ and analytical abilities, protecting them from possible mistakes that modern teens tend to make.
