Hawkshead Attacking Formation
Chasers form an arrowhead pattern and fly together towards the goalposts. Highly intimidating to opposing teams and effective in forcing other players aside.
Parkin’s Pincer
So named for the original members of the Wigtown Wanderers, who are reputed to have invented this move. Two Chasers close in on an opposing Chaser on either side, while the third flies headlong towards him or her.
Plumpton Pass
Seeker move: a seemingly careless swerve that scoops the Snitch up one’s sleeve. Named after Roderick Plumpton, Tutshill Tornado Seeker, who employed the move in his famous record—breaking Snitch catch of 1921. Although some critics have alleged that this was an accident, Plumpton maintained until his death that he had meant to do it.
Porskoff Ploy
The Chaser carrying the Quaffle flies upwards, leading opposing Chasers to believe he or she is trying to escape them to score, but then throws the Quaffle downwards to a fellow Chaser waiting to catch it. Pinpoint timing is of the essence. Named after the Russian Chaser Petrova Porskoff.
Reverse Pass
A Chaser throws the Quaffle over one shoulder to a team member. Accuracy is difficult.
Sloth Grip Roll
Hanging upside down off the broom, gripping tightly with hands and feet to avoid a Bludger.
Starfish and Stick
Keeper defence; the Keeper holds the broom horizontally with one hand and one foot curled around the handle, while keeping all limbs outstretched (see Fig G) The Starfish without stick should never be attempted.
Transylvanian Tackle
First seen at the World Cup of 1473, this is a fake punch aimed at the nose. As long as contact is not made, the move is not illegal, though it is difficult to pull off when both parties are on speeding broomsticks.
Woollongong Shimmy
Perfected by the Australian Woollongong Warriors, this is a high—speed zig—zagging movement intended to throw off opposing Chasers.
Wronski Feint
The Seeker hurtles towards the ground pretending to have seen the Snitch far below, but pulls out of the dive just before hitting the pitch. Intended to make the opposing Seeker copy him and crash. Named after the Polish Seeker Josef Wronski.
There can be no doubt that Quidditch has changed beyond all recognition since Gertie Keddle first watched ‘those numbskulls’ on Queerditch Marsh. Perhaps, had she lived today, she too would have thrilled to the poetry and power of Quidditch. Long may the game continue to evolve and long may future generations of witches and wizards enjoy this most glorious of sports!

[1] Equivalent to over a million Galleons today. Whether Chief Bragge intended to pay or not is a moot point.
[2] The right to carry a wand at all times was established by the International Confederation of Wizards in 1692, when Muggle persecution was at its height and the wizards were planning their retreat into hiding.

Season 1 Chapter 4
Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Quidditch Season 1 Chapter 4 for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you trained a lot with Skye, which greatly improved your Quidditch skills. She even taught you Parkin’s Pincer, her family’s signature move. However, not long after that, Madam Hooch informed Skye that her father got injured, and she had to leave urgently. After she left, the Quidditch commentator approached you and said you’re going about getting a Quidditch tryout all wrong. He left before you had the chance to talk to him about it. Sadly, you can’t confront him just yet because there’s a waiting period of five hours before you can proceed. Since the Quidditch chapters are not time-limited, it is recommended simply to let this timer expire and regenerate energy in the meantime.
Once you’re able to continue, head to the Commentary Box to confront the commentator.
Upon arriving, you’ll find out that he was already expecting you.
Apparently, the Quidditch commentator is quite an interesting character.
You’ll get three options to respond to him. These won’t have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to pick the one you find the most appropriate for the situation.
He’ll then introduce himself as Murphy McNully.
And apparently, he knows who you are.
He’ll also say that you have much to learn in order to impress the captain of your house team.
It appears that the rumors about Skye and Orion not getting along are true.
Shortly after, Skye’s Quidditch mates will arrive, so you’ll have to cut the conversation short.
The task window will display the rewards for the Friendly, as well as the cost of it. Simply complete it just like any of the previous matches.
Once you’re done with this one, you’ll be tasked with completing another two Quidditch Friendlies.
There is a waiting period between these two friendlies, but since there is no time limit on Quidditch chapters, it is recommended to simply wait until the timer runs out.
Once you’re done with these, head to the Clocktower Courtyard to meet with Penny.
Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters before continuing.
Penny will inform you that Skye’s father, Ethan Parkin, is recovering well.
She’ll then ask if you’re missing Skye. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.
Shortly after, Penny will tell you she wanted to talk to you about Murphy McNully, the Quidditch commentator.
Moments later, you’ll get to talk to her about Murphy. This requires earning five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass.
Both Penny and Face Paint Kid have 5-cost actions tied to them, so prioritize these to save some energy.
When you are done, you’ll learn that Murphy could help you get a tryout.
Still, that might not turn out to be so easy.
Face Paint Kid will suggest you talk to Murphy and see if you can change his mind.
He’ll also inform you that McNully enjoys playing wizard chess, which might be a good way to win him over.
Penny will be kind enough to borrow you her set.

Proceed to the Great Hall when you are ready.
Once you arrive, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say to you.
Murphy will be quite happy to see you.
Shortly after, you’ll ask him Murphy if he’d still be up for teaching you.
However, it appears that he’s more interested in playing some chess first. You have two options to respond with, but none of these will impact the story, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.
Eventually, you’ll get to play wizard chess with Murphy. Doing so requires earning five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass.
There are some 5-cost actions tied to your character, so focus on those to save some energy.
When you finish the task, you’ll learn that Murphy is quite skilled when it comes to playing wizard chess.
As it turns out, this was a test.
Still, you’ll be curious to know why he wants to help you.
The explanation is quite simple – he just has a hunch about you.
He’ll offer to teach you the strategy he invented, but before that, you’ll need to practice Quidditch some more.
Your next task involves completing two Quidditch friendlies. Do them similarly to the other ones you’ve done so far and you should be fine.
When you finish these matches, proceed to Quidditch Changing Room to meet with Murphy.
It looks like he already made some interesting calculations.
He’ll then wave his wand and the strategy will appear on the blackboard.
His strategy is called the Thimblerig Shuffle.
He’ll explain the meaning behind the name.
Moments later, he will start explaining it in detail.
Learning the Thimblerig Shuffle requires earning five stars within three hours. All of the stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting the task with an empty energy bar.
There are 5-cost actions tied to both Murphy and your character, which will make this task a bit easier to complete.
After finishing the task, Murphy will decide to test you. The upcoming friendly is perfectly suited for that.
However, there is a waiting period of six hours before the friendly starts. Once again, it is recommended to wait until this timer expires.

After the waiting time is over, proceed to the Commentary Box.
Murphy will be excited to see your demonstration.
He’ll be curious to know how well you remember his strategy. There are three options to respond with. While some of the following dialogue will be different, depending on this choice, the outcome of the story won’t be affected, so feel free to take your pick.
He’ll then ask you to tell him the shape of the Hawkshead Attack Formation. The correct answer is triangular.
Shortly after, he’ll ask you the next question. The right answer is The Porskoff Ploy.
You will then ask Murphy to tell you more about himself.
And he’ll be happy to share.
You’ll then ask if he can introduce you to Orion Amari.
As it turns out, you already know Orion.
Apparently, Murphy already talked to Orion about you.
Now is the time to try the Thimblerig Shuffle and demonstrate your skills.
You’ll then be tasked with completing one Quidditch Friendly. As usual, the window will display the cost of it as well as the rewards.
When you are done, Orion will approach you. Soon enough, your Quidditch future will be determined.
This will mark the end of Chapter 4 of Season 1 of Quidditch. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. This will also add Murphy McNully to your list of friends.
You’ve finally got to meet Orion Amari, your Quidditch Captain. Was he observing you all this time? Will he let you attend the tryouts? Find out in the next Chapter of Quidditch for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery!
Thank you for reading.
