Perfect service the guild that does anything for you

Maybe this is how the game is supposed to work, but I figured I’d ask. I’ve tried playing as a craftsman and a scholar now, and in both cases I find the following:

Earning money is slow, so I start expanding with other businesses. The AI management is pretty poor so I don’t use it. Even with just 2 businesses I find that I’m spending a lot of my time bouncing between the two and managing resources, build queues, and so forth. 3 or 4 businesses becomes difficult to manage, requiring all of my time. Is there some secret to cutting down the micromanagement? Is it possible to do well with just one business or two?

Second, by the time I start to build up some capital and get things running smoothly, my character is getting old. I try to start a family and get into politics and such, but I never have time to get very far. I have a couple of kids, so they can take over, but I find that by the end of my character’s life I haven’t upgraded my house or businesses very much, and don’t really have much money yet.

Is this normal? Should I expect that it will take several generations to really get things going? How do you balance the time between management and social/political stuff?

Also, I’ve started the games with the default 4 year turns. does this make a difference?

I have 30 buildings and actively manage 7 of them. The rest of them I check on once in a while, none of them are AI managed so it is possible but takes a lot of micromanagement.

There are certain businesses that require little to no active management. The fishing hut and upgrades is one example. Have your fishing boat fish automatically and set your workers to making fried herring. Then have your cart do an auto-trade route from the business to market to sell the herring. Very little management required.

The church in scholar profession requires very little management as well. Just have them give two sermons a day and set the rest to work on producing poems and thesis or rosaries and their required resources (gather holy water, make parchment, etc.).

The rogue line is the best for no active management. Build a thieves guild and just set your workers to pickpocket. That’s it, no other actions required after that other than to replace thieves that die off.

You can make a decent amount of money with level 1 businesses in certain professions, like the fisherman’s hut, but others require level 5 to really start raking in the cash. It’s important to level up your character so that you can upgrade these buildings. I usually only start doing politics later on until I have my businesses established. Otherwise I’d never had enough time or money to make politics worthwhile.

This game requires micromanagement and is sort of a micromanagement type game. If you don’t like micromanagement, then you’ll have a hard time liking this game.

Present Perfect — прошлое или настоящее?

В английском языке прошедшее время может быть представлено в разных вариациях, смотря на чем автор делает акцент (на результате действия, времени или длительности).

Present Perfect — настоящее совершенное время. Оно не имеет аналога в русском языке и переводится глаголом совершенного вида в прошедшем времени (I have found it. – Я нашел это.)

Чтобы построить Present Perfect, возьмем have/has как вспомогательный глагол, а основной будет всегда в третьей форме (окончание «-ed» или третья колонка в таблице). И в отрицании и в вопросе глагол сохранит третью форму.

I have finished my project. – Я закончил свой проект.
I haven’t finished my project. – Я не закончил свой проект.
Have you finished your project? – Ты закончил свой проект?

Используя Present Perfect, мы подразумеваем прошлые действия, которые связаны с настоящим. Как они могут быть связаны?

В чем разница между small, few и little?

Слова-маркеры Present Perfect

Обычно маркеры Present Perfect представлены наречиями, которые крайне размыто сообщают нам о времени действия. Например, «уже» (already) – когда именно? Сегодня? Вчера?

Чтобы не путаться и не сомневаться, достаточно выучить такие наречия и всегда использовать с ними Present Perfect:

ever – когда-либо, когда бы то ни было, когда-нибудь;
never – никогда;
just – как раз, точно, едва, только что, всего лишь, совсем, только-только, лишь, сейчас;
already – уже, ранее, даже;
not … yet – все еще нет, нет еще, еще не, нет, еще нет;
before – раньше, прежде, пока не, уже, перед тем как;
lately – давно, в последнее время, недавно, за последнее время;
of late – с недавних пор, за последнее время, недавно;
so far – уже, к настоящему времени, на этот час, пока, до сих пор, вплоть до этого момента;
recently – недавно, на днях, в последнее время, только что, не так давно;
by now – на настоящий момент;
up to now – до сих пор, до настоящего времени;
since – с (с какого-то момента);
still – все еще.

Куда ставить маркеры в предложении?

Некоторые наречия Present Perfect имеют особенности употребления.

I have already bought a gift. – Я уже купил подарок.
He has just started this task. – Он только начал это задание.

Что выбрать: Past Simple или Present Perfect?

В американском английском маркеры «just», «already», «yet» сопутствуют как и Present Perfect, так и Past Simple. Не удивляйтесь, если встретите:

The mail just came. – Почта только пришла (американский вариант).
The mail has just come (британский вариант).
I already heard the news. – Я уже слышал эту новость (амер.).
I’ve already heard the news (брит.).

Сочетание «just now» используется исключительно с простым прошедшим временем Past Simple.

She was here just now. – Она только что была здесь.

У маркера recently есть 2 значения: «не так давно» и «за последнее время».

В значении «не так давно» будем употреблять Past Simple.

I started playing the piano only recently. – Я начал играть на фортепиано не так давно.

В значении «в последнее время» используем Present Perfect.

I haven’t heard from her recently. – Я не слышал о ней в последнее время.

Before you practice Present Perfect tense, that would be great to revise Participle 2 of irregular verbs. You can use an amazing video by an ESL English teacher reading a rap about Participle 1 and 2. Students can watch this video as a part of a homework assignment beforehand, learn it, and start reading rap on the lesson.

You can also use an animated participle 1 and 2 rap.

Where have I been?

This game has a CLIL component: kids remember not only Present Perfect but flags as well. You show the students 10 small flags of different countries. Choose the most popular one, so they can recognize the flag.The flags should be drawn on stickers. Then you stick them on students’ foreheads. Each student asks questions and tries to guess the country. “Have I been to Italy? Have I been to the USA…” Other students answer “No, you haven’t” or “Yes, you have”.

Have you ever…

This is a fun game to play with friends even after school. Each student gets a two-sided card. It’s written “I Have” on one side and “I have never” on the other.

Each student has a chance to ask any question to classmates. Fun questions are welcome. Ex. “Have you ever eaten a frog?” or “Have you ever told a lie to your teacher?”

“After they hear the question, they hold up their cards showing “I Have” or “I have never”. Those who show “I have never” do sit-ups for 3 times.

Students ask each other different questions about household or everyday duties trying to find out who has done everything he/she was supposed to do.

Snowball game. What I have done this week

One of the students starts saying what he has done this week, the partner repeats that sentence and goes on with his variant until one of the students breaks the chain. The game starts again.

Example: Student 1: I have gone to the movies this week.

Student 2: I have gone to the movies this week, and I have bought new trainers….

I have always wanted to be an artist

Teacher offers the students to draw something funny and not show it to anyone. Teacher collects the drawings and puts them in a hat. Each student takes one drawing and tries to find the author asking “Have you drawn this?” If the student takes his own drawing, he/she must do 5 squats.

I know what you have done

This game can be really fun, because it makes students move, use their body language and practice TPR. One of the students goes to the center of the classroom. Give him 10 activities to choose “Play basketball — 5 seconds, play football — 5s, dance like ballerina — 10s., spin around-15s., eat ice cream — 10 sec…..”. Another student stands up and turns back so that he/she cannot see the action doer. The first student starts showing the action silently using body language only. After he finishes acting, the second student tries to guess what he has done asking questions. “Have you danced like a ballerina…?”

Find it if you can

Divide a class into two groups. Give each group the same text. Their task is to find in the text and write down as many sentences in the Present Perfect Tense as possible. The group which writes all “hidden” present perfects and does it faster, wins. The other group squats for 10 times.

This game helps students to improve their creativity.

Teacher shows a situational photo. The student who writes the biggest number of sentences about that situation, wins the game, others just do 5 squats. A photo of a scene from a favorite film can be a good option.

We are in the process of adding new guild services that will make relocating to a new realm, switching factions, or changing your guild name easier than ever before. Relocating your guild to a new realm or faction with this new service will keep your guild structure intact, including the guild leader, guild bank, and guild name (depending on availability). You won’t even need to pack.

Guild members who decide to relocate with their guild may initiate their own paid character transfer. Upon a successful transfer they will automatically be part of the guild when they first log into the new realm. Their guild rank and guild reputation will be intact.

Guild leaders who do not want a change of scenery may also choose to pick a new guild name using another new service.

As a part of the process for adding these new services, we’re launching on North American realms first to perform additional testing for stability and functionality. We expect to be able to add additional realm availability to the service, including EU realms, in the coming days and weeks.

World of Warcraft Guild Services FAQ

Q. What are the guild services for World of Warcraft?
A. Three guild services are available: Guild Master Realm Transfer, Guild Master Faction Change, and Guild Name Change. These services can only be initiated by a character who is a Guild Master.

Q. Do taxes apply to these services?
A. Players in select states in the U.S. may be subject to taxation when using a guild service. This includes but is not limited to:

-New Mexico
-Texas

Q. Aside from being a Guild Master, are there any other requirements for the character that initiates a guild service?
A. The Guild Master must meet the same requirements governing the equivalent character-level service (such as Character Transfer), including being at least level 10 (except for Guild Name Change) on an account in good standing. View the Character Transfer FAQ or Faction Change FAQ for more details.

In addition, the Guild Master’s Battle.net account must be protected by a Battle.net Authenticator or a Battle.net Mobile Authenticator that has been active for at least seven days (starting at the time of the first Authenticator-protected login to the game) before a guild service can be initiated. If additional security-related requirements apply to your character, they will be brought to your attention when you initiate a guild service.

Q. Are there any requirements for the guild to be able to undergo a guild service?
A. A guild must be at least level 2 to undergo a Guild Master Realm Transfer or Faction Change. There is no level requirement for a Guild Name Change.

Q. How do the two «Guild Master» services work?
A. When performing a Guild Master Realm Transfer or Guild Master Faction Change, only the Guild Master character transfers realms or switches factions. The Guild Master takes the framework of the guild as well, including the guild vault, level, perks, and achievements.

Q. What happens to my guild members?
A. Your guild members remain in the original guild. The original guild will be reset to level 1 and will not retain its guild bank or any of its achievements, reputation, or progression. You will also select a new Guild Master from the guild roster to replace you after your character leaves. Your guild members will be eligible to follow you to the guild’s new location by performing their own character service (such as a Character Transfer ). If they do so, they will automatically rejoin the guild and retain their guild reputation.

Guild members who plan to transfer to the guild’s new location should not quit the original guild – otherwise, they will not regain their guild reputation after transferring to guild’s new location.

Q. What happens to my guild bank, level, and so on?
A. The guild bank, level, perks, and achievements transfer with the Guild Master character to the new realm and/or faction.

Q. Will individual members’ guild reputation be retained when they rejoin the guild?
A. The Guild Master character will retain his or her reputation after transferring, and guild members who decide to transfer will regain their guild reputation when they rejoin the guild at its new location. However, there are two notable exceptions where this does not occur: if the guild member transfers realms before the Guild Master, or if the guild member quits the guild on the original realm before transferring realms.

Q. Is there anything that doesn’t transfer with the Guild Master?
A. Besides your guild members, the only thing that doesn’t transfer is your guild rank structure. You will have to reassign ranks at the new location.

Q. How will my guild members know when this happens and how to follow me?
A. After a Guild Master service is complete, your guild members will receive an in-game mail with instructions on how to follow you. They will be directed to Battle.net account management to initiate their own character service(s), which will need to be purchased separately. This process will be streamlined, so options such as the destination realm and/or faction will be preconfigured.

Q. Will there be an out-of-game notification of a guild realm transfer or faction change?
A. No, the only notification will be the in-game mail delivered to your guild members.

Q. How long will a player be eligible to follow a Guild Master after a realm transfer or faction change?
A. There is no time limit on following a Guild Master to a new location, as long as the guild member does not leave the current guild before Guild Master Realm Transfer or Faction Change is complete. If a guild member leaves a guild that has moved to a new location, or joins a new guild, the member’s reputation with that guild will be wiped after 30 days.

Q. Are there any requirements for a guild member who wants to follow a Guild Master Realm Transfer or Faction Change?/
A. The guild member must meet the requirements of the character service they are undergoing (Character Transfer or Faction Change), including being at least level 10 and on an account in good standing. For the complete list of requirements, refer to the Character Transfer FAQ or the Faction Change FAQ.

Q. How long does a guild service take?
A. Under normal conditions, a guild service takes one to two hours to complete, but please allow up to several days.

Q. Is there a cooldown period for guild Realm Transfers, Faction Changes, or Name Changes?
A. The cooldown periods for guild Realm Transfers, Faction Changes, and Names Changes are each 30 days. These cooldowns will not overlap with each other.

Q. What happens if I transfer my guild to a realm where my guild name is taken?
A. If your guild name is taken on the destination realm, you’ll be prompted to pick a new name for your guild during the realm transfer process on the Battle.net website.

Q. Can I customize my character and name when doing a faction change?
A. Yes, the same character customization options offered in the Appearance Change service are included in a Guild Master Faction Change.

Q. I’m ready to move my guild! How do I initiate a Guild Master Realm Transfer or Guild Master Faction Change?
