Os verbos no passado no Inglês, o chamado Past Simple (ou Simple Past), têm algumas características que poderemos enxergar neste exercício: uso de verbos com o final ED, outros que não seguem essa regra e também o uso do auxiliar DID na forma negativa.

No texto vemos como é um dia comum de Laura e baseado nessa rotina dela, é preciso dizer o que ela fez ou não fez ontem.

De acordo com a atividade:

— She had a big breakfast. Had é o passado de Have (Ter), então dizemos que ela teve (ou fez) um grande café da manhã;

— She walked to get to work. Walked é o passado de Walk, e sabemos que ela sempre caminha para o trabalho;

— She started work at 8.45. Started é o passado de Start;

— She didn’t have lunch. Para dizer que não fizemos algo no passado, usamos o auxiliar do passado no negativo (Didn’t) + o verbo na forma normal dele (Have, e não Had);

— She finished work at 5 o’clock. Finished é o passado de Finish;

— She was tired when she got home. Was é o passado de Is e Got é o passado de Get;

— She cooked a meal yesterday evening. Cooked é o passado de Cook.

— She didn’t go out yesterday evening. Usamos o Didn’t para negar que ela saiu na noite passada. Por causa do Didn’t, o verbo Go não precisa estar no passado, fica em sua forma comum.

— She went to bed at 11 o’clock. Went é o passado de Go.

— She slept well last night. Slept é o passado de Sleep.
