This is a «tool» of sorts I created while trying to identify the many ambient and player sounds in The Phantom Pain.

As Ravioli is used to scan the soundbanks in MGSV in sequential order and tools like Sound Replacement Tool output files from the soundbanks in sequential order too when packing and unpacking them, I thought I would be able to combine these two things to help identify sounds.

So I have generated a batch of 1077 text-to-speech wav files each saying a number in sequential order from 1 to 1077, as well as a batch of 1 second silence wav files. Then I used some scripting to rename the files to the format that Sound Replacement Tool expects when replacing sounds and repacking the sbp soundbank.

In combination with the Sound Replacement Tool, you can replace any file in any sound bank with either a number or just silence in order to cull out unnecessary sounds when trying to identify things.

Quote from the campaign of Call of Duty Black Ops, in the story the main character Mason has been brainwashed to translate number sequences into an order and complete what ever it told him to. The story revolves around him being interrogated and gameplay is all flashback, in between gameplays you see a cut scene with the interrogators where they keep telling him to translate the number code and he keeps complaining about hearing numbers.

I have been seeing this used more and more often as reaction text in a conversation or a video comment and I wanted to run it by the forum first.

I though it was in the funny game. But im not sure if there are enough situations to make it a meme. I do see the potential though.
