Fast – faster – fastest (быстро – быстрее – быстрее всего)

Наречия, обоазованные от прилагательных при помощи суффикса –ly, образуют сравнительную степень при помощи more, а превосходную при помощи most:

Clearly – more clearly – most clearly (ясно – яснее – яснее всего)

Степени сравнения наречий often (часто), quickly (быстро), slowly (медленно) образуются обоими способами.

Имя числительное

(The Numeral)

Имя числительное – часть речи, которая обозначает количество предметов, число, а также порядок предметов при счете. Соответственно своему значению числительные делятся на количественные и порядковые.

Количественные числительные обозначают количество предметов и отвечают на вопрос How many? Сколько? В английском языке (в отличие от русского) количественные числительные используются для обозначения номеров домов, квартир, страниц, глав книг и т.п. Традиционно они обозначаются цифрами, стоящими после определяемого слова. Определяемое существительное в этом случае употребляется без артикля.

Ann lives in Oxford Street 27 (twenty-seven).

Анна живет на Оксфорд-стрит, в доме 27.

Порядковые числительные обозначают порядок предметов при счете и отвечают на вопрос Which? Который?

Количественные числительные, обозначающие десятки, относятся к производным. Они образуются от соответствующих числительных первого десятка при помощи суффикса –ty: six – sixty, nine – ninety. Необходимо запомнить следующие количественные числительные:

20 – twenty 30 – thirty 40 – forty 50 – fifty

В английском языке слова hundred (сто), thousand (тысяча), million (миллион) являются существительными, поэтому перед ними ставятся или неопределенный артикль a или числительное one.
