Recently we installed 10 TV’s on the walls in our office and factory with Lenovo M83 small form factor PCs to display informational powerpoint slides and bulletins throughout the day. We set the computers to static, and made sure to use an unused IP address for each of them, but for some reason they continue to get the IP address conflict error which stops the powerpoint presentation from running. The devices are spread between 2 different subnets, the machines on both subnets are receiving the errors. The error we get in the event viewer on these machines is Event ID 4199 «The system detected an address conflict for IP address 0.0.0.0 with the system having network hardware address XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX (MAC). Network operations on this system may be disrupted as a result.»

Anyone ever experienced this?

That sounds like another NIC or another IP on the same NIC that is conflicting. 0.0.0.0 is normally used when a machines through a DHCP cycle.

M. Engel is exactly right, the easiest is to run the ping with one tv unplugged. You can also do a nslookup with TV unplugged and see if another FQDN shows up, which may help.

To see if something else really has the IP of the computers attached to the TV’s

Also you could turn all the TV computers off and use something like Solar Winds IP Address Tracker to scan your subnet for IP’s in use. If the computers are telling you something has the IP’s, then most likely something has the IP’s. They generally don’t lie about things like that.

If you upen the command shell and ping a device, it gets pinged 4 times.
if you add the ‘-t’ it will ping the devices as long as you want.

Another thing to add to this is to set up your DHCP pool to have room for static address’s. For example: If my subnet is 10.0.5.0/24 then my pool would be from 10.0.5.30-10.0.5.254. That gives me 29 addresses that I know will not be assigned via DHCP.

Just stop using static addressing in the first place and you won’t have the problems to start with. The only things that should be running static addressing are some of the servers (not all servers need it) and networking devices like switches and routers. and security cameras. Everything else should just be DHCP. that is just simply good network design. Generally speaking you should never have to ever know the IP of any device (baring the exceptions above). if you have to «know» then you are approaching the situation incorrectly.

Can the devices in question recieve IP’s from the DHCP server? If so what not have reservations setup less chance of conflict in the future.

Your message from Event ID 4199 says «The system detected an address conflict for IP address 0.0.0.0 with the system having network hardware address XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX (MAC).

You have the MAC address in the error message already.

Follow wRx7Ms advice as well.

Turn the PCs all off.

Turn them back on one at a time till the ping responds and make a note of the PC.

Turn that one back off and the ping should die.

Keep turning the PCs on one at a time till you find the other one.

Are you using multiple DHCP servers? Do they share or overlap scopes?

As others have noted, use DHCP not static. also reserved addresses means you have to remember what that range of addresses is.

Or you could put them on their own subnet.

Also, why 2 different subnets for 10 PCs?

You are making this setup way more complicated than it needs to be.

You should be able to just drop a PC on your network, plug it in, enable the port and jack and voila!!

Does «unused IP address» happen, by chance, to mean «an address outside the DHCP scope»?

I got the same problem, I can’t send mail to gmail users but can receive mail. My domain ip(202.170.122.80/crisgo.com,mci.co.th) was completed SPF record and are not infected black list.

Could you help me out off Gmail Black list.

We have the bulk_mail-problem after we are blacklisted two weeks ago.

SPF-Record is set. (IP: 80.79.225.35, necnet.de)

I receive frequent requests for assistance in helping get off Google’s spam rejection / blacklist. Here is an updated set of steps to follow. Please DM me if you have trouble with the process. I cannot help you unless you’ve gone through at least steps 1 through 3.

1) Make sure your domain is really clean and that you are NOT using tiny URLs in your emails (body or footer). Also, make sure you are following ALL of Google’s Bulk Senders Guidelines.

2) Make sure your SPF records are clean and correct (make sure you include ANY source of email); If you make SPF corrections, you need to wait 24-48 hours for them to propagate before continuing on. Please note that your SPF should end in «

all», not «-all» or other options. The «

all» suffix appears to make a difference.

3) THEN submit this form to Google. Google does not say how long any action will take. You can try to continue the process after about 24 hours, but you may need to wait 48-72 hours or longer.

Спасибо за совет, хелп я уже прочитал. Не стоило мне ставить 100 сообщений за раз, да еще и без интервала отправлять. Как связаться можно с их хелпом, я там все перерыл, но так и не нашел формы связи с поддержкой.

Прямая связь с саппортом у них похоже только для бизнес-пользователей. А простым смертным писать на форум

Обратная запись, SPF и DKIM настроены?

На сервере в настройках прописано v=spf1 ip4:194.XXX.XXX.18 a mx

reverse dns точно есть? Без него банят почти везде. Если есть, надо DKIM поднять.

reverse dns я первым делом сделал. Серваку уже 2 года. Первый раз в бан попал. С утра был в 4 базах забанен. Сейчас остался в HOSTKARMA и UCEPROTECTL1

DKIM вроде я тоже настраивал. Покрайней мере в конфиге exim запись соответсвующая присутствует.

Если правильно, то ХЗ как в гугловый блоклист попасть можно. Ну если конечно не рассылать про увеличение болтов. Возможно, 1000 юзеров из 1500 нажали пипку «эта спам!»

Вообще причину блокировка Google четко сформулировал «Our system has detected an unusual rate of unsolicited mail originating from your IP address.» 1700 адресов и судя по логам и мощности сервера, он умудрился отправить их минут за 10 если не быстрей. Настроил ограничения по скорости, да бы избежать в будующем подобных недоразумений. А так в целом меня забанил только google. Тотже mail и yandex вполне адекватно отреагировали на сия деяние. Что свидетельствует о нормальной настройки сервера. Банально google не понравилась скорость с которой поступали мисьма на их сервера.

I have a small situation.

The system detected an address conflict for IP address 192.168.x.x with the system having network hardware address A0-02-DC-49-2E-xx. Network operations on this system may be disrupted as a result.
Is this a spy ware and should I need to be concerned. PLease assist me.

This issue isn’t caused by malware, but mostly by a bad management of the DHCP from which you get your LAN IP addresses. How many devices do you have connected to your modem/router in total?

No, it is not spyware.

This error message indicates that another computer on the network is using the same IP address that your computer is using. Each computer on a network must have a unique IP address.

Event ID 20291 is logged in the System log when a client computer is moved to a different IP network

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

You have two DHCP servers that are running Windows Server 2012 R2.

You configure the servers as a failover cluster.

You set up multiple DHCP scopes and multiple IP networks.

You put a client computer on one of the IP networks and confirm that it receives an IP address from one of the scopes.

You move the client computer to a different IP network.

In this scenario, an Error event that resembles one of the following Event ID 20291 events is logged under the «Applications and Services Logs/Microsoft/Windows/Microsoft-Windows-DHCP Server Events» path in Event Viewer:

Resolution

Update information

The fix that resolves this problem is included in the November 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2.

Note Before you install this update, you have to first remove the failover relationship, install the update to both DHCP nodes and restart them, and then reestablish the failover relationship.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the «Applies to» section.
