ELLEN TEBBITS
Ellen had no brothers or sisters. And since Nancy Jane had moved away, there was no one of her own age living on Tillamook Street. So she had no really best friend. She did not even have a dog or cat to play with. Of course Ellen had lots of friends at school, but that was not the same as having a best friend who lived in the neighbourhood and could come to play after school and on Saturdays. Today, however, Ellen was almost glad she did not have a best friend, because best friends do not have secrets from one another. And she really had a secret.

Ход урока:
I. Мотивационный этап.
Учитель: Good morning, children. I’m glad to see you.
How are you today?
II. Актуализация знаний.
1. На доске 5 картинок с изображением людей разных профессий (doctor, teacher, cosmonaut, pilot, driver), а 6 – я картинка с изображением ребёнка (младенца).
Учитель: Назовите лишнюю картинку.
Ученик: Все остальные картинки с изображением людей разных профессий.
Учитель: Переведите на английский язык слово “профессия”.
2. Карточка №1 (работа в парах).
Учитель: Соедините слово с переводом.
Оцените себя (без ошибок – 5 баллов, с 1 ошибкой – 4 балла, с 2 ошибками – 3 балла).
III. Операционно-исполнительский этап.
1. На доске вопросы:
Who is she? –She is my sister.
What is she? – She is a teacher.
Учитель: Догадайтесь, как переводятся эти вопросы.
2. Прослушивание аудиозаписи: стихотворение “Who is he?”.
Учитель: Сейчас мы послушаем стихотворение, а вы догадайтесь какова тема урока.
Ученики слушают и повторяют за диктором.

What is he? – He is a worker.
Учитель: Кто-нибудь может назвать тему урока?
Ученик: Вопросы “Who is she?” и “What is she?”
Учитель: Какова цель нашего урока?
Ученик: Научиться правильно, задавать вопросы “Who is she?” и “What is she?” и отвечать на них.
2. Объяснение нового материала.
Учитель: Прочитайте, что написано на доске и сравните.

Учитель: Давайте ещё раз послушаем стихотворение и переведем.
Учитель: Какой можно сделать вывод?
Ученик: Вопрос “Who is she?” задают, когда спрашивают о человеке, а вопрос “What is she?”, когда спрашивают о профессии человека.
3. Тренировочные упражнения.
