Student: So, as for me I prefer different kinds of books. For example, I like scientific books but also I read historical books and also adventure books. For some people I can offer to read the book of American writer. This books called “Roads” I find it very interesting and a bit touching.

Student: So, I don’t have any favourite writers but I like to read books of Oscar Wilde and some Russian writers, for example Alexander Pushkin or Nikolai Gogol. I don’t have any favourite book and texts. And so …I can’t answer this question honestly because of these reasons.
Electronic assistant: How often do you borrow books in the library?
Student: To be honest I have never took them from librarybecause I have my own library at home. I can borrow there books and read them every day, and so I don’t have to take any signature from library and then get back it to library, because I have lots of books of different genres and topic at my home.

Student: Nowadays lots of technologies which can help us to read books on the computer, on the electronic books or on the phone, so nowadays teenagers prefer this reading to reading usual book and I think this is a bit bad and unhealthy because it can spoil our …eyes and teenagers must buy glasses and I think this is a bit bad for them and unhealthy as I told before.

Student: I think that I prefer printed books to e-books. Because I like to read it not on electronic board and on the screen because I also have problem problems with my eyes and this …even better to read text on the paper than to read it on the screen. And I like to read books printed because I have never tried to read e-books because I find them a bit different to printed books.
Electronic assistant: What book would you recommend your friends to read on holiday?
Student: Probably, I would recommend them to read book ‘War and Peace’ of Lev Tolstoy because it’s beautiful book and I found it very amazing and exciting. There are lots of different old words which are not using nowadays but this is touching story and I would recommend to read this books for my friends on holidays. I think this would be the best way to spend their time on holidays and just to play computer games or waste your time by watching TV.

What do you usually do in Literature lessons?
In my Literature lessons we discuss the novels and poems which we’ve read. Also we write essays expressing our opinions.

I’m a fan of sport. I love playing volleyball. Also I often draw and paint.

I prefer e-books. It’s more comfortable to have your library in a small device. We don’t need to have room to keep paper books.

What books do teenagers read?
Reading has always been one of the most enjoyable things among people. No matter which century we live in, reading is never old-fashioned. The only things that gradually change are the way we read and the instruments we use while reading. In fact, modern technology promotes reading especially among teenagers. Hence you could use all spheres of modern technology such as the Internet, e-readers, smartphones or iPad to motivate your teens to read. The ones who are not keen on reading can listen to audiobooks.
But what books do teenagers read and what genre is absorbing for them? We have asked some of our Skyeng students and found out that most teenagers are fond of detective and science fiction, but other genres are also worth mentioning. Here we provide must-read books that your teens will probably like.
Detective stories
Crime novels keep younger readers engrossed as everybody wants to find out the required evidence and the murderer. And in the top list of detective stories popular among teenagers is certainly “Sherlock Holmes ” by Arthur Conan Doyle. It is a fictional private detective and is famous for his great experience in investigating cases, forensic science, and logical reasoning.
Another work of the same author about Sherlock Holmes is “A study in scarlet”. The novel was written in 1886. In fact, it marks the first appearance of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. The most prominent idea of the book is revenge and that it has no place in a civilized society. It would be nice for your teens if they are interested in the fictional character biography.
One more detective novel that many teenagers enjoy reading is “The Diamond Thief” by Sharon Gosling. It is about 16- year-old girl Remy who performs on the circus trapeze. But she also wanders through the backstreets of the city as a jewel thief.
Science Fiction
One of the most popular books among science fiction is “Binti” by Nnedi Okorafor, who is a is a Nigerian-American writer of fantasy and science fiction. The book was published in 2015. “Binti” won a lot of significant literary awards, including the 2016 Hugo Award for Best Novella and the 2015 Nebula Award. The main hero is Binti, who belongs to the Himba ethnic group on Earth. She is the first person of her ethnic group that is accepted into Oomza University, which is the finest institution of higher learning in the galaxy. But if she accepts the offer, she will have to give up her place in her family and then to travel among strangers who do not respect her customs and traditions. The world she wants to join has warred with the Meduse, an alien race that has become the stuff of nightmares. Oomza University has wronged the Meduse, and Binti’s stellar travel will bring her within their deadly reach. In order to survive, Binti needs both the gifts of her people and the knowledge gained within the University.
“Jumper” is another book that teenagers like. It was written in 1992 by Steven Gould, who is an American science fiction writer and teacher. The main hero of the novel is a teenager named David. He has the ability to teleport. David escapes from his alcoholic father and uses his ability to “jump”(to teleport) to search for his mother who left him when he was a child. But, of course, it is not easy for a teenager to survive in a big city like New York, without money and without anybody’s help. Hence he has to learn to live safely all by himself.
“A Wrinkle in Time” is a novel written by American author Madeleine L’Engle. The book was published in 1962, and since then it has won lots of Awards. It is a story of 13-year-old Meg Murry, who is a daughter of two scientists. Meg’s father is missing and she finds out that her father was working on a confidential scientific work when he disappeared. Soon Meg, her younger brother and their classmate take up the searching for her father throughout the wrinkles of time and space.
Adventure
In the top list of adventure books, we find the series of “Harry Potter” written by J. K. Rowling. There are 7 novels in the series. The first one — “The philosopher’s stone” was published in 1997. And the last book — “The Deathly Hallows” was published in 2007. The novels describe the lives of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. They study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The whole story is about Harry’s struggle against Lord Voldemort, a dark wizard who intends to become immortal.
“Beauty and the Teenage Beast” by Tarrah Montgomery is in the list of the most famous adventure books among teens. The main character of the book is a teenage girl named Belinda. One day she finds a magic door in her bedroom that opens to a fairy-tale land called Fenmore Falls. Belinda takes her sister Hallie through the magic door. Hallie accidentally destroys a rose garden. The owner of the garden gets very angry but hides in the shadows. Belinda sends Hallie back through the magic door but is captured and ordered to repair the garden.
Romance
“I believe in a thing called love” is written by Maurene Goo. The story is about Desi Lee who believes everything is possible if you plan beforehand. But she has never had a boyfriend. When handsome Luca Drakos falls in love with her, she decides to use her dad’s beloved Korean dramas to help with her love life. Naturally, things don’t quite go according to plan.
“P.S. I Still Love You” is a romance novel by American author Jenny Han. Lara Jean didn’t expect to really fall for Peter. She and Peter were just pretending. Except suddenly they weren’t. Now Lara Jean is more confused than ever. When another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean’s feelings for him return too. Can a girl be in love with two boys at once?
Actually, no matter what books your students like, extensive reading has proved to be beneficial in the learning process. However, we really hope that the article turned out to be helpful and your teens will enjoy reading these books.

Сегодня, дорогие читатели, мне бы хотелось поговорить подробнее о тех типичных ошибках, которые часто присутствуют в устной части ОГЭ.
Устная часть ОГЭ состоит из трех заданий:
СТРАТЕГИЯ ВЫПОЛНЕНИЯ ЗАДАНИЯ №1 ПО ГОВОРЕНИЮ
Основными ошибками при выполнении этого задания, разумеется, выступают фонетические ошибки, искажающие смысл. К этим ошибкам можно отнести неправильное произношение звука (замена фонемы), которая приводит к искажению значения слова, если пара слов различается именно на его основе, например ship – sheep. Другой случай этого рода – когда слово становится неузнаваемым из-за его неправильного произношения, например put произносится с тем же звуком, что cut, или слово science – с двумя согласными в начале.
Фонетические ошибки, искажающие смысл высказывания, могут быть также при неверной расстановке пауз.
Рассмотрим на примере приведенного ниже текста:
Scientists have long been working on new orbital technologies for growing plants. They tried to grow different plants on the International Space Station. Then the plants were sent back to the Earth for further study. This year, for the first time, astronauts could eat green leaves grown in space. Space farming is extremely important for the future space missions planned to Mars because it gives fresh food and vitamins. The new plant growing system is very smart. It informs humans when the plants need water. Special sensors measure the thickness of the leaves. If they become too thin, detectors send signals. This technology helps save water in space and grow a good harvest.

При ответе на данное упражнение, важно соблюдать три аспекта: решение коммуникативной задачи(дать ответы на все вопросы, раскрыть содержание), придерживаться организации высказывания (логики и связности в речи) и языковое оформление речи (словарный запас, грамматические структуры, фонетическая сторона речи).
Task 3. You are going to give a talk about animals. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.
Remember to say:

1) Первый аспект раскрыт неполно. Учащийся говорит, что любит диких животных (допустимо не называть конкретные виды), но понять, почему они ему нравятся, практически невозможно (they have their own personality and people can’t catch them, can’t get them and they lives they live like they want.)
2) Второй аспект раскрыт полно и точно: So nowadays it’s a big problem to protect endangered animals because of many troubles in our environment.
In my opinion people should build some special places for animals where animals could feel their safety, where they can get all they need like food, nature and other things they need in their life.
3) Третий аспект раскрыт неполно: I don’t think that zoos are a good thing for animals because zoos don’t have needed things for animals. Далее учащийся не поясняет, что он имеет в виду (needed things for animals), а рассуждает о сотрудниках зоопарка.
Объем высказывания – 10 фраз.
1 балл
В целом высказывание достаточно логично. Однако оно часто нарушается из-за недостатка языковых средств для оформления мыслей (например: And I can’t say that zoos are good thing or bad thing I think it’s only about people.).
Использованы средства логической связи: so, because, and, in my opinion, when I don’t think that.
Вступительная и завершающая фразы отсутствуют.
0 баллов
Использованный словарный запас, грамматические структуры, фонетическое оформление высказывания соответствуют поставленной коммуникативной задаче. В высказывании используются лексика грамматические структуры, соответствующие допороговому уровню.
Были допущены негрубые языковые ошибки в употреблении:
1) лексики: could feel their safely; get all they need like food, nature and other things they need for life; needed thing, to do their lives better;
2) существительных в единственном числе и множественном числе: don’t have needed thing;
3) артиклей: the workers, a good thing;
4) глагола в Present Simple: workers likes.
