Peppermint Toads

Just discovered your blog and am enjoying reading the previous posts and looking forward to new ones. Couple comments/questions though:

Peppermint and chocolate is one of my favourite combos, too! (I often have trouble deciding which is the best one between orange, cherry, strawberry, caramel, peanut butter and peppermint.)

But why make a new recipe for these toads, because aren’t the Peppermint Toads Ron was eating the same thing as the Peppermint Cream Toads mentioned earlier? (I realize the text doesn’t SAY cream but I’ve alway thought they were the same. Not that I’m necessarily correct, though.)

Really fun blog, thanks for starting it/continuing with it. I’m really enjoying it.

Thanks for reading! Alas, I am in Colorado for a job this summer, and couldn’t get my beloved HP books all in my luggage, so I don’t have my text-based-citation reasoning to back me up. Part of the reason is that I originally intended to simply make peppermint creams (not frog-shaped), and then stumbled across a line that made me believe the peppermint creams were frog-shaped. Dinah Bucholz doesn’t include a recipe for peppermint-flavored chocolate frogs, like I have made here, but at the Honeydukes at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the peppermint toads are not cream-filled. Either one of us could be correct, and until I started this blog, I also categorized them as the same sweet. But really, why not make both, since I get to decide?
As for Christmas cake, I blogged about it the first time it appeared, so if you continue to check out my archives, you’ll eventually stumble upon it. Since so many foods appear multiple times, I’ve been preparing each one only when it debuts in the series (except for butterbeer, because there’s just too many ways to make it!)
As for the next things, tukrey we’ve done, chipolatas we’ve done (kindof), and you’re correct, my entry on tripe is more about my disgust with it 🙂

Thanks for the prompt reply! Sorry about my lateness in getting back to you but commenting here had slipped my mind for a few days. So if there’s any justification for that, there it is.

Okay, yeah, if you’ve already done Christmas cake and chipolatas then it makes sense you wouldn’t do them again. I guess I’ll have to get back to the archives and read up on those entries.

At the Honeydukes at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the peppermint toads are not cream-filled.
I haven’t been lucky enough to visit TWWoHP yet (never even been to Florida) but if I had a bucket list (I don’t), it would totally be on it.

And as for being separated from the HP books, I don’t think I could take that. I’d especially try to get in Deathly Hallows and Prisoner of Azkaban (because they’re my top 2 faves) but seeing as I have the Adobe Reader editions of the books now it doesn’t really matter because I could put them on my e-reader or leave them on my computer and read them that way as well.

Meet with Rowan in your house common room and decode the notebook with 1 star to pass in 3 hours
Rowan decipher the code : ‘these Boggarts must have something to do with the curse protecting the next vault, which means someone found it first. If i don’t hurry, Hogwarts is doomed.’
Rowan can decipher the rest of the notebook, but you should take someone with you to find your brother’s secret room :
– Bill Weasley (lv 1 friendship needed)
– Penny Haywood (lv 2 friendship needed)
– Ben Copper (lv 2 friendship needed)

Both spells won’t work and there’s something written on the lock : Property of Tulip Karasu. Shes’s a Ravenclaw in 3rd year and always in detention.
She spends a lot of time studying alone in the Transfiguration Classroom and we’ll need her help to get into this room so let’s confront her there.
You will have 2 options what to do :

Tulip will said that she’s very busy and talk to Dennis until she’s finished. A toad with Dungbomb strapped to its back, you need to disarm it.. that’s the test and Tulip need to know that you’re worthy of her help.

When you’re done Tulip will explain that you inspired her and she had to be the next one to open a Cursed Vault.
She immediately scoured this castle for clues until she found the abandoned room Jacob used to research the vaults.
When she found your brother’s room, she fashioned a lock with 2 keys, so no one else could find it.
She kept one key and agreed to give the other to her accomplice.
