Getting Started

Depositing Cryptocurrency

Crypto.com App allows the deposit of 17 digital assets such as BTC, ETH, CRO, BAT, LINK, USDC and DOT. The list of supported coins and ERC-20 tokens are restricted in particular countries such as the United States, Singapore and Hong Kong. For example, USA customers can not deposit popular tokens YFI, AAVE and UNI.

The deposit speed varies on the coin and the number of confirmations required before the funds arrive in the wallet. An email will be sent once a successful deposit is completed.

What Are The Fees?

Crypto.com charges a standard fee between 1.49%-3.99% to purchase cryptocurrencies via debit cards or a credit card depending on the user’s country. The exact cost will be displayed on the app when the order is placed. For a limited time promotion, new Crypto.com users are eligible for a 0% credit card fee waiver for the first 30 days.

Crypto.com Exchange

Crypto.com provides a cryptocurrency trading platform to swap digital currencies and is referred to as the ‘Crypto.com Exchange.’ The Exchange is accessible online and features an advanced user-interface.

Verification & Limits

For traders that want to buy/sell digital currencies on the Crypto.com Exchange, a tiered verification system with increased features, functionality and limits for each higher level. Traders can deposit an unlimited amount of crypto to the Exchange once KYC is completed.

Supported Cryptocurrencies

Crypto.com exchange provides support for over 24 cryptocurrencies such as BTC, XRP, LTC, MCO, EOS, XLM, ATOM, LINK, XTZ, BCH, VET and USDT. The assets can be traded against Bitcoin, Tether and CRO tokens providing a large number of trading pairs. Trading User Interface

Crypto.com Exchange offers a sleek, intuitive and clean platform for traders to speculate on the digital currency markets. The cryptocurrency trading platform provides advanced features, tools and indicators to analyze the charts and price action. The charting software and tools is provided by Tradingview, which most crypto traders will be familiar with.

Switching between crypto pairs fast, responsive and near-instant, which other trading exchanges can struggle with. There was no latency to load the price charts of each trading pair. The drop down menu on the top right to view other assets is a great feature as it doesn’t clutter the interface.

The interface is laid out with the chart in the middle and recent trades on the right to see the last prices that people are willing to buy and sell the selected cryptocurrency and the volume/amount traded at each price level. This makes it easy to enter an order by clicking a recent trade to automatically populate the exact price of the pair. Entering a price in manually can lead to errors.

Placing Trades

The available orders to enter a trade are limit and market orders only. Compared to advanced crypto trading platforms such as Binance, Coinbase Pro, Kraken and KuCoin, the available orders is limited and should be expanded to include stop-limit and OCO orders.

Trading Fees

Overall, the Crypto.com Exchange starting fee of 0.2% for market and limit orders which is similar to Huobi Global. However, the fee is higher than Binance which offer a 0.10% trading fee that can be further reduced by 25% with referral bonuses or holding the exchange’s native BNB token.

Deposit & Withdrawal Fees

Crypto.com Exchange does not charge a fee to deposit or withdraw cryptocurrency assets to the exchange for trading. The standard blockchain transaction fees to withdraw funds from the exchange will apply that varies on the asset and the network load. For example, the fee to withdraw BTC is 0.0005 BTC.

Crypto.com Derivatives Exchange

To complete with popular leverage trading exchanges such as Bybit, FTX and even Binance, Crypto.com has expanded its products to offer a Derivatives Exchange. The platform allows BTC/USD perpetual contracts to be traded using USDC as collateral. Users on the platform can trade using 50x leverage to control a larger position to take advantage of small price movements.

Similar to the Crypto.com Exchange for trading spot, traders that hold and stake certain amounts of the Crypto.com coin (CRO) are eligible for trading fee discounts. The user-interface for the derivatives market is similar to the spot exchange as shown below.

Crypto.com Earn

A benefit with using the Crypto.com App is the ability to earn interest on cryptocurrencies. To obtain the bonus, the deposited assets must be held within the Crypto.com wallet to earn up to 6.5% p.a. on crypto and 12% for stablecoins. The Crypto.com Earn interest amount is paid out weekly in the deposited coin. For example, Bitcoin (BTC) deposits will earn interest in BTC weekly.

Staking 50,000 or more CRO tokens unlock an additional 2% p.a. interest on fixed term contracts. However, the additional interest is paid in CRO tokens, not the asset. Crypto.com Earn supports a total of 34 digital coins that include the major coins such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, XRP and Binance Coin. There are 8 stablecoins that can also be deposited to the Crypto.com App to earn interest such as USD Coin, Tether and True USD.

Crypto.com VISA Card

Crypto.com App offers a Bitcoin Debit Card backed by VISA to spend crypto and earn cashback rewards on purchases up to 8%. There are no setup charges or annual fees to starting earning rewards at supported retailers using the Crypto.com VISA Card. To apply for the Crypto.com VISA debit card, users must download the Crypto.com App, complete identity verification (KYC), purchase CRO tokens from the App and deposit to their wallet to stake the CRO tokens (for 180 days).

Cashback Rewards

Depending on the amount of CRO tokens staked within a Crypto.com wallet, MCO VISA cardholders will receive different percentage cashback between 1% and 8% as follows:

Customers that do not stake CRO tokens can still apply and use the Crypto.com VISA card to earn a 1% cashback on purchases. However, are not eligible for additional benefits and card rebates.

Card Rebates

In addition to earning up to 8% cashback bonuses on local and international purchases, Crypto.com VISA Cardholders can benefit by earning in rebates when spending at Crypto.com premium partners that include Spotify, Netflix, Prime and Expedia. The amount of rebate does vary with the amount of CRO staked on the app, which also allows bonus interest to be earned.

There are limits to the rebates per month and customers should check the website for details. Once the 180 lock-up staking period has expired, the tokens can be transferred to a Crypto.com wallet to trade, or continue staking crypto to earn additional benefits.

Crypto.com Pay

Crypto.com is a strong advocate for blockchain technology and the adoption of cryptocurrencies. What are the differences between the Crypto.com App and Crypto.com DeFi Wallet?

Crypto.com DeFi Wallet is a user-custodied wallet where you are the custodian. This means you get full access and control of your crypto private keys. Unlike a centralized custodian on the Crypto.com App, you have complete ownership of your crypto when they are stored in the Crypto.com Wallet. You do not need a Crypto.com account to store, send and receive crypto in the Crypto.com Wallet.

Due to the decentralized nature of the wallet, all the transactions are processed on-chain and require network fees to incentivize the transaction confirmation on the corresponding token/coin’s Blockchain network. Please note that network fees might vary based on the Blockchain network traffic and Crypto.com does not charge any network fee.

E.g. you need ETH as network fees to send/swap/deposit USDT as it is a ERC20 token.
