Question 1. What’s the most popular means of transportation in your hometown?

Answer – The most popular transports in my hometown are buses and trains. It is the easiest and common transports in my hometown. Apart from this, other means of transports are cycles, cars, scooters, and autorickshaws.

Question 2. How often do you take buses?

Answer – Quite a few often I pick buses. When I was a child, my easiest means of transportation was the bus. Now I have two-wheelers and cars. So I use these modes of transportation for my travel.

Answer – Well, both of these two means of transportations had numerous advantages. First and foremost is, both of these are the fastest means of transportation inland. Secondly, these two can carry passengers for its’ seats availability. Finally, we can reserve seats in advance for our journey.

Answer – Yes. It is prevalent in my country. People are using two-wheelers and four-wheelers for their conveyance. Rather than rent a vehicle’s these two are most general and conversant.

Answer – I do not think so. In the technology-driven world, automotive professionals are behind of latest innovations, which is very useful and easy for humans. Geneva motor show is one of the most prominent and innovative motor shows around the world. In 2019, the automobile tycoon brand BMW introduced one of the cars that are not required to support a driver. So, I believe in the future we can also travel without a driver.

Answer – Of course, driving is one of my passions. Somewhat, four-wheelers I enjoy the two-wheeler driving because we can park anywhere at any time, Low petrol consumption in addition, easy to handle at any age.

Answer – Trains and buses are the most important means of transports. These two transportations are interconnected with cities and villages. So, people at any age can easily avail of these two services.

Question 8. Do you prefer public transportation or private transportation?

Answer – I mostly prefer private transport rather than public transport. Because it generally depends upon the circumstances. When you can drive for a long journey, your own vehicle is the best option, and we can plan our travel as per our schedule. However, public transport is another option for those who do not have their own vehicles, and also we can mould our schedule as per its’ time.

Question 9. How did you come here(get here) today?

Answer – I came here by my two-wheeler. It is a 2007 model hero Honda passion plus. It was a surprise gift from my father when I completed my graduation. So, I have an emotional attachment to the vehicle.

Question 10. Why did you choose that form of transport?

Answer – For me, it is the best choice for transport. In addition, rods are very congested nowadays, and the traffic ratio is comparatively doubled to previous years. So rather than choosing four-wheelers bikes or scooters better for travel.

Question 11. What form of transport do you usually use?

Answer – I usually use busses and trains. Compare with any other means of transport, and the travelling fare is reasonably affordable. From bus stops and railway stations, we can get both these modes of transports.

Answer – Definitely. We can get a bus and taxi from every corner of the city. Moreover, uber, ole are the easiest taxi options in our city. Along with this, we can book another online or offline travel service for our journeys.

I always wanted a vintage motorcycle like a Harley Davidson or Indian. Everytime I see one on my internet news feed or on TV, I get the urge to find and buy one. These two motorcycle manufacturers have a long history and are well known throughout the world. I feel they are the most stylish bikes out there on the streets or in museums on display.

If I had to chose one of them, I think it would be a WWII era military model Harley Davidson because I have an interest in military vehicles, and they are unique in that they have special features like ammo boxes and special military colored paint.

I’m sure I would ride it on occasions, but only for short distances or to the local motorcycle meetups. Most of the time, it would be stored in my garage where it will be safe from accidents and the extreme weather conditions.

I think I started liking antique motorcycles after I took a tour of a Harley Davidson motorcycle plant and museum in York Pennsylvania about 15 years ago. In the museum, they had on display a model from every year starting from, umm, I think, 1903 when the company was founded. When I came across the military edition model, I became hooked. I knew I needed one right then and there.

The closest I came to getting one was back in 2001 when I bought my first Harley Davidson motorcycle, but it was a model year 2001 and non-military. Maybe someday my dream to have a WWII era HD will come true. For now, I will keep dreaming and hoping.

There aren’t many public transportation options in my small town because they are not necessary. Although, there’s a public bus system that takes people to and from the nearest city. I never used this system and really don’t have any idea about it. I do recall reading or hearing about it at some point in my life.

From my understanding, this service is a direct route starting near the square of my hometown to the square of the final destination. I believe there are several stops in between, however I have no idea where the bus stops are located on the major road. I can only imagine the stops are strategically located.

I would assume the people who take this bus don’t have their own cars and work in the city or are visiting family and friends. On second thought, maybe it could be commuters who work in the city and don’t want to drive their personally vehicles everyday. It’s hard for me to say why people use it.
When I was back in my hometown one time, I didn’t have a car and needed a way to get into the city. Since I knew about this bus system, I looked up the stops and times on the internet. I believe the pickup and drop off times were not suitable for me, so I found another way into the city. I think it was with my parents car.

I don’t know if the system is good or bad or if I like or dislike it. I never read any reviews about it or heard anyone mention the service the bus provides. In all honesty, I know it exists, but have little information about it. Maybe someday I will.

I remember a time when I was in the U.S. Army and took a long unbearable military charter flight from Newark Delaware in the USA to Rhein-Main Air Base in Germany, which is near Frankfort. This was back in 1985 and I was only 18 at the time.

I was going to Germany to be stationed at a military establishment for 2 years, so I was excited about the trip. Little did I know that the flight was going to be one of the worst I ever had.

Let me start by saying the plane was full, or better yet, I would say overloaded with military personnel to include their carry on bags. All of the bags didn’t fit in the overhead compartments, so they were stored on the floor in various locations in the plane. Well, I was the unfortunate passenger who had what I would say, the worst seat in the house. I was seated in the row of seats with no row of seats in front of me. Guess what?! A lot of those extra carry on bags were placed in the little space in front of me. This made it so I couldn’t stretch my legs out. Right then and there, I knew I was in for a cramped and intolerable 8-hour flight.

As I expected, the flight was horrible. I couldn’t sleep, and I don’t think I got up once during the flight. I sat there for the entire time wishing I was at my destination sooner than later.

Once I arrived at the airport, I was beyond happy to get off the plane and stretch my legs and walk around a bit. I wouldn’t wish this type of experience even on my worst enemy. It was definitely a trip I wanted to forget and never relive again. Luckily, until this day i haven’t taken another flight like it.

✤ I think road transportation will remain the most popular means.

There are as many means of transport as you can only imagine. They are a bus, a bicycle, a car, a ship, a train, a plane and so on. And today I want to discuss all of them.

The most popular means of transport is a car. Nowadays there are so many car producers and brands that a car becomes the most popular and comfortable type of transport. You can travel by car everywhere. The only thing that can stop you is your driving license and the foreign country rules. А dream of many people is to buy a car and for most of them it comes true.

Another popular transport is a bus. Not everyone can drive or many people just want to enjoy the view and concentrate on their thoughts while travelling. And the bus allows all these. The cost of travelling by bus is much lower than that of a car.

Bicycle is popular among young people. They use it during the warm seasons to travel around the city or the nearby places. It’s healthy and affordable for most of people.

Train is popular for its low cost and cozy atmosphere. You can make a long travel on the train and don’t need to pay a lot for it.

Planе is popular for its speed but the cost is quite high. It is thought to be the safest means of transport among all. The most luxurious means of transport is a ship. I mean not those small ordinary ships, but the ones that travel across the oceans with thousands of tourists. They are often called liners.

So we just need to pick up the one we like and completely enjoy it.

Part 1

-My hometown is a small city. It is both traditional and modern because of having several festivals celebrated by the locals, and at the same time it is starting to be developed with increasing number of infrastructures and establishments.

-My hometown, Sorsogon City is located in the southernmost tip of the Bicol Peninsula and the Luzon Island. Bicol is one of the regions in the Philippines and Luzon is the biggest island in the country.

– Yes, it is. It is a small city but there are different kinds of transportation available.

-It is known for “Pili nuts”. They are said to grow in volcanic soil.

5. What do people in your town do?

–Agriculture and fishing are common in my hometown. Also, with the latest modernization, numerous office jobs have appeared in my town.

Part 2

Describe your home town. You should say:

My hometown is called Sorsogon. I was born and raised there and I can say it is definitely my favorite place. It is located in the southernmost tip of the largest island in my country. I cannot tell that it is a very big province. The town is both traditional and modern. I call it traditional because there still are many festivals celebrated by the locals, yet modern, as it is starting to be developed just like other province having much more sophisticated infrastructure.

Sorsogon is a province that is about 12-hour bus ride from the capital city of the Philippines. Main roads are part of the national highway, so they are wide and huge. The highway happens to be an important place, because it is a key passage for buses and cars that cross it on their way from the North to the South.

Sorsogon is also special as it offers many tourist attractions. For example, in a close vicinity, there are an active volcano and a lake with very beautiful scenery.

Among all the places I have been to, I think Sorsogon is one of the best. There are wonderful places to visit – not crowded and not polluted. I frequently go to beautiful and clean beaches. Sogroson is located on many islands that are not yet developed and are very peaceful and relaxing to stay in. On top of that, natural cold and hot springs are popular here as well. Many people visit this place to experience them.

Part 3

One problem in my hometown is a low accessibility of some places due to problems of public transportation systems. Although there are different means of transportation, it can still take you hours to get to certain venues. For example, the earliest bus leaves at 5:00 am and the latest – around 5:30 pm. Therefore, for those who go back from work after 5:30 pm, it gets increasingly difficult to commute.

I reckon, we all love our hometowns, because we were raised there. I am personally used to this place and I have become very comfortable with it. I have created some very pleasant memories here – met friends, family, my first love, first academic achievements. In my hometown I was formed physiologically as an individual.

Well, I guess the majority of people feel that there could be more opportunities outside of their hometowns and consequently – comfort zones. Therefore, many believe that living in such a comfortable place, with relatives and friends can be distracting and too relaxing on the way of pursuing goals. Also, people (not only youth) strive to explore other places and experience different cultures across the globe.
