7с. Grammar in Use — Применяем грамматику на практике
5. Put the verbs in brackets into the correct tense. — Поставьте глаголы в скобках в правильное время.
6. Write true answers to the questions in full sentences. Compare with your partner. — Напишите правдивые развернутые ответы. Сравните с партнером.
7. Discuss the questions in pairs. — Обсудите вопросы в парах.
Возможный вариант обсуждения:
8. Complete the sentences with your own ideas. Compare with your partner. — Закончите предложения по своему усмотрению. Сравните с вашим партнером.
9А. Read the sentences. Which is: a wish for the present? a regret for the past? — Прочитайте предложения. Какое из них является пожеланием в настоящем? сожалением о прошлом?
9В. Complete the table. — Заполните таблицу.
10. Tom is upset. Read his thoughts and write about his wishes and regrets. — Том расстроен. Прочитайте его размышления и напишите о его желаниях и сожалениях.
11. Write sentences, as in the example. — Напишите предложения, как в примере.
Комментарий: Обратите внимание, что и в предложениях с конструкцией I wish I, и в предложениях с конструкцией If I мы использовали глагола to be — were, а не was. Объясняем, почему. Именно эта форма считается правильной при использовании в любом условном предложении, не зависимо от лица и числа. Так же считается правильным применять ее и в конструкциях I wish I. Это грамматическая норма. Конечно, в последние годы английский язык идет по пути упрощения и уже считается вполне нормальным говорить was в таких случаях. Но пока еще was считается разговорным вариантом.
12. Write three things you wish for the present and two things you regret doing. Tell your partner. — Напишите три вещи, которые бы вы хотели пожелать в настоящем и две о сожалении в прошлом. Расскажите своему партнеру.
