Is Roblox Piggy ending? | Piggy’s final chapter to be released soon

On Oct. 23, 2021, Book 2 of the popular Roblox game Piggy will be releasing its 12th and final chapter on the Roblox platform. There are currently no plans to continue Piggy’s main storyline through the form of a Book 3—instead, Piggy developer MiniToon is working on an entirely new Roblox Piggy game titled Piggy: Intercity, and an exclusive Steam game titled PIGGY: Hunt to take its place. Piggy: Intercity is currently in demo form, and PIGGY: Hunt opens for early access this Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021.

The community surrounding Piggy and its story have grown exponentially over the past year—with almost 10 billion visits, and it’s no secret that it’s not only one of the most popular but also one of the most beloved games on the platform.

With a fandom that consists of art, edits, theories, alternate universes, and even game suggestions, it’s seemingly been hard for players to watch their favorite game be discontinued. Since the announcement, many avid Piggy fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts and find comfort in other community members.

Meanwhile, MiniToon will expand and create even more content further the breadth of his characters and stories.

It’s really sad that it’s ending. However, I am beyond happy that I was there to see the amazing story of Piggy and meet all the wholesome characters.

I’ll always keep a special place for Piggy in my heart. I will never EVER forget this lovable masterpiece.

For those unfamiliar with this fan-favorite experience, Piggy is a survival horror game where one player acts as Piggy, terrorizing and attempting to attack those around her. The rest of the players act as survivors, attempting to complete tasks within a time limit without Piggy’s detection. If survivors are successful, they can escape and win—if all survivors are killed, Piggy wins. The gameplay of Piggy is similar to that of Among Us and the popular Roblox games Granny and Baldi’s Basics.

Deceptively simple, Piggy actually features quite the in-depth story and characters for players to follow. According to the Piggy Wiki, Book 1 of Piggy was originally created to serve as nothing more than a pastime for MiniToon and his friends. However, after a short time, the game grew a massive following and fanbase. Due to its fame, Piggy was then able to expand into a profit outside of Roblox by creating and monetizing Piggy branded clothes, stickers, and even a line of action figure style toys.

Though the main storyline of Piggy is ending, it’s not the end for Piggy itself. Piggy’s journey will continue through updates released to Piggy: Intercity as it’s developed, including new game modes, characters, maps, and even the ability to interact with choose-your-own-adventure style dialogue and character customization. MiniToon plans to put their all into the future of Piggy, so whether you’re playing Piggy: Intercity or PIGGY: Hunt, you’ll be in good hands!

The five skins which won the 2022 Fan-Built Design Contest will be added to the game on an unknown date.

Crossovers

Dark Deception

Dark Deception and Piggy are doing a crossover event, similar to how Jailbreak did a crossover event with Piggy. This has been confirmed by the creator of Dark Deception. [1]

Royale High

MiniToon has said that he would love to do a collaboration with Royale High, another popular Roblox game. He is just unsure of how the crossover would work.

Piggy Book 2 but it’s 100 Players

MiniToon said that he might make a Piggy Book 2 but it’s 100 Players after the original Book 2 story line was finished. However, this likely won’t happen because there is a fanmade version which MiniToon allows the creator to continue.

Permanent-Death Option

A possible «permanent-death» option has been mentioned by MiniToon for the players who feel very adventurous.

Minigames

There will be minigames around the map, there isn’t much detail known about these though.

Quests/Missions

It’s confirmed that there will be quests coming to the game, but it is unknown on what the quests are for and how to complete them. There are currently two confirmed types of quests: Story/main quests and side quests.

More Customization Options

MiniToon will be adding around 20-30 species of animals that you can be and accessories like hats, shirts, etc. Some of the animals can even be recolored.

More Locations

MiniToon will be making the map for intercity much bigger, and adding over 80 locations. He also said that when he adds the House map, it will be redesigned to be more realistic and have a toilet. Dungeons will also be added, and will presumably be able to be built in bases.

Build Your Own Base

After Book 2, in Intercity, MiniToon will add base building. You will be able to build your own base and you will be able to hide from infected in it. You will also be able to build your own shop at your base.

Item Shops

Leveling up attributes are confirmed to be coming into Intercity, and are presumably related to the shops. There will be more weapons in the shop, and the clothing section will be filled out. More shops will be scattered around the map, just in case players need supplies, but are too far away from the Survivor Camp.

Parties

There will be parties, and you will be able to complete missions with your friends/teammates in the party. The limit of it is 4.

Dialogue Options

MiniToon said on Twitter that he would let the player decide what kind of person they want to be (nice, neutral or mean). He then said that it would be done by certain dialogue options that will choose the type of path the player wants, this will also affect the player’s pupil colors depending on their choices.

Boxing Arena

MiniToon plans to add a boxing arena to Piggy: Intercity, where you can presumably practice fighting in a «1v1» style. This arena will most likely be located in the Survivor Camp.

Gamepasses

So far, MiniToon has one gamepass thought out for Intercity. There may be more coming, but first, he wants to focus on the gameplay.

Hostile NPCs

More enemies will be added to Piggy: Intercity, and there will be boss fights. Crouching will also be added to Piggy: Intercity, so that players can sneak by uninfected hostile NPCs like guards.

Build Mode

This includes stuff like movement, more characters, etc. There will also be beginning cutscenes in the future.

Undo and Redo Buttons

They were supposed to come with the 6/12/21 Build Mode update, but unfortunately couldn’t be finished in time. It is possible we’ll see these mechanics in the future though.

Optikk made a tweet about themes coming to Build Mode.

More Bot Options and Friendly NPCs

MiniToon has stated that all the remaining bots from Docks to Breakout would be put into Build Mode after Breakout released. Kona and Robby’s NPCs, however, are confirmed to be coming to Build Mode as characters for cutscenes.

Potential Roller Coaster

ErnieC3, a Piggy youtuber, suggested a roller coaster event idea to MiniToon while playing his map. MiniToon said he likes the idea and might try to add it.

Best Time

The next Build Mode update will also feature a «best time» mechanic which allows you to view your best time on a map. MiniToon says he wants to add this feature for speedrunners.

Следующий акт — вы в лагере, кемпинге. Вы находите рацию и бщаетесь с мистером П. Он просит спасти его подругу из школы.

Вы в школе. Учителя выпили некое зелье и тоже стали монстрами. В конце этого сюжета вы увидите загадочного мистера П, хотя на русском скорее мистер К.

Вы попадаете в больницу. Далее бегаете по лаборатории и выясняете с чего всё началось.

Спускаетесь в подземку и пытаетесь запустить поезд, здесь вам откроется тайна произошедшего.
