What your attitude to the internet is

Nowadays in the era of globalization the Internet plays a big role in humans, lives. The teenagers, attitude to the network is actively discussed nowadays. Some people claim that the Internet badly affects on teenagers minds, while others have the opposite position. In this essay I will try to look upon this issue.

Personally I belong to the second group said that there is nothing terrible in the using the Internet by teenagers.

To begin with, the Internet is the colossal discovery of the humanity, which opened the access to the knowledge and the resources from the whole world. Thank to this opportunity teenagers can pay more attention on the self-education and be more briefed. The second argument is that the Internet offers a communication using social networks. I mean in this way the teenagers become more social and open-minded. Moreover they can have friends from the other countries, that helps to destroy the language and the cultural barriers.

Many people believe that the network has a negative effect on the teenagers. They mention that surfing the Internet can turn into addiction. Поступаете в 2019 году? This addition leads to the wasting teenagers time and to the other addition called gaming.

I can not agree with such opinion because these problems exist not due to the Internet but due to humans features. Everything can be used both with a benefit and a harm, the method of the using depends only from the character of the teenager.

Despite the fact that many people think that the Internet is harmful for teenagers, I am convinced that there are a lot of advantages in using it by the teenagers.

Учащиеся открывают учебники на стр. 76 и читают про себя тексты подбирая заголовок каждому тексту.

Учащиеся находят в текстах данные словосочетания.

Учащиеся делятся на группы, каждая группа внимательно читает один из предложенных текстов и выписывает преимущества и недостатки интернета.

5. Развитие навыков монологической рeчи(10-мин)

Учитель предлагает заполнить таблицу на доске и высказать своё мнение об интернете.

I’d like to start by saying that the Internet is, without doubt, a great achievement of mankind because it can be used in different situations and makes our life brighter, easier and more interesting. People use the Internet in order to get new information, read the news and weather forecasts, watch films, communicate with friends, work and so on.

The Internet is especially useful for students as it offers a lot of educational opportunities. For example, on the Internet, it is possible to find almost any book, article or other sources of information that you might need. Then, if you fail to find such sources, you can find people instead who know the topic well and ask them for help. You can also attend various webinars and study any subject that you are interested in. Last but not least, the Internet is a perfect place for language learners because it provides you with everything that is necessary to improve your language skills: reading materials, videos to watch, podcasts to listen to, special sites about pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar, forums for communication with native speakers, etc.

On the other hand, the Internet can sometimes be a threat.

It usually happens when you don’t know how to use it safely. In the worst-case scenario, you can lose your personal data, social network accounts, money and even get involved in some crimes against your will. So, it is important to be careful when using the Internet.

In conclusion, I can say that the Internet has both advantages and disadvantages, and if you know how to use it, you can turn it into a powerful tool for education and entertainment.

To begin with, people use the Internet for different purposes. For example, with the help of the Internet people can work from home, communicate with family members and friends, learn foreign languages, read books, watch movies, etc.

As for those who want to raise the level of their education, the Internet gives them practically unlimited opportunities. Online libraries, educational portals with lots of helpful resources and links, YouTube channels, various forums and webinar platforms – this is just a small part of what the Internet has to offer. In case you know how to make the most of it, you can turn the Internet into a faithful companion on your way to knowledge and success.

Unfortunately, the Internet can be not only useful, but also harmful for users. Negative things usually happen when people use the Internet unwisely and without thinking about the consequences of their actions. In case you don’t understand how the Internet works, sooner or later you can end up losing your money, personal data or accounts on different sites. One more threat is Internet addiction: some people get so much interested in the Internet that they stop taking part in real life.

So, nowadays the Internet is an important part of our life, and it depends on a particular person whether this network will bring them good or bad results.

T: Good morning, students! I’m glad to see you. Take your seats, please.

T: You are right. The topic of our discussion is “The Internet in Our Life”. We are going to read and discuss the texts about the Internet and prepare to write an essay or an article on the topic. T: At first I want you to work with the words. Look at slide № 4 and answer what words you expect to use in our future work. Make the sentences with these words. (Учащиеся выполняют задание на слайде 4: читают слова и строят предположение, какие из них они встретят в дальнейшей работе на слайде, затем придумывают предложения с этими словами.) (Обучаемые беседуют об Интернете и его роли в жизни людей, опираясь на таблицу “толстых” и “тонких” вопросов. Задают и фиксируют в письменном виде вопросы, на которые они хотели бы получить ответы. А затем устно спрашивают друг друга о проблемах интернета).

T: You will listen to a text about the Internet and its role in our life. Then do some tasks. We are split into two groups. The first group fills in the gaps. The second group puts correctly jumbled words. Don’t remember to fill in the third column of the table “Know – Want – Learnt”. Let’s listen two times.

I think the Internet is the greatest invention ever. Think how it has changed the world. So much information is out there. It has totally changed my life. I can chat with friends, download music, buy books and get all the info I need for my homework. It took days or weeks to do any of these things before the Internet. I spend hours every day online. I think I spend a little too long. I’m sure staring at a computer screen all day isn’t good is that it can be dangerous. I don’t really like putting my personal information online, especially on social networking sites like Facebook.

T: Now. Say me, please; what is aim of our lesson?

T: Read the text. While working with the text fill in column 3 of the table.

T: When you are sitting at the computer a lot, your eyes get tired. In order to be healthy we must make a pause in time. Look at the screen and do exercises for your eyes. Your eyes should follow the eyes of boy. Enjoy music.

Save your eyes. You needn’t use the Internet too much, because it hurts your eyes.

Close your eyes tight. (4 sec)

Internet and Modern Life

The Internet is a part of our ordinary life. Everybody knows that the Internet is a global computer network, which embraces hundreds of millions of users all over the world and helps us to communicate with each other in our ordinary life.

The history of Internet began in the United States in 1969. It was a military experiment, designed to help to survive during a nuclear war.

In many countries the Internet could provide businessmen with its own reliable system of telecommunications. The commercial use of the network is constantly increasing. Now you can work through the Internet, gambling and playing through the net.

However, there are some problems. The most important problem is security. When you send an e-mail, your message can travel through many different networks and computers.

There is no effective control in the Internet, because a huge amount of information circulating through the net.

Thieves and hackers may gain access to personal information. Additionally there is an endless amount of violent and sexually explicit sites.

Besides that anyone who surfs the Internet for long periods is clinically ill and needs medical treatment.

Thus there are some pros and cons. But no doubt the Internet is a great achievement of mankind.

IV. Стадия рефлексии. Then make up a few sentences on the topic of our lesson. Приём “Кластер”

(Учащиеся совместно с учителем составляют общий кластер на доске: отвечают на вопросы учителя, опираясь на таблицу “З-Х-У” и таблицу “толстых” и “тонких” вопросов, и заполняют ячейки схемы по теме).
