Worldedit you are not permitted to do that are you in the right mode

I recently bought world edit yet I get the following error: You are not permitted to do that. Are you in the right mode?
Why did this happen cos i spent £6.59 on this and i want to use it
Chances are you logged on at same point when the minecraft authentication server was down, which causes a different UUID under your account to be generated in the permissions file. I will go in the files and figure it out when I get a chance (am not on a computer right now).

If anyone here loses access to a permission, that they think they should have then send me a private message on the forums. Right now the MC authentication servers are going down very often, and causing groupmanager to become confused. From what I can tell groupmanager was only half set up to use UUID’s, and that is causing the problems we are experiencing.
As it is I went through and deleted anything that could have been a fake UUID, so anyone who is not staff or has a custom permission will be reset to newbie. Your playtime will remain the same, so you will automatically rank back up to where you were before when you next join.
Why don’t I have permission to use WorldEdit?
I’m trying to install WorldEdit, and I’ve done the following:
I get the following error:
You don’t have permission to do this
What causes this? (I’m on a Mac, if that’s a factor)

Due to the nature of worldedit, worldedit requires you to specify permissions, either the build in, or by using a permissions plugin
Worldedit uses the WEPIF (WorldEdit Permissions Interoperability Framework) to handle permissions.
If you’re not using a permissions plugin, the easiest way is using Flat file permissions which allows you to simply give yourself all permissions by editing two files in the root of your server (same location as bukkit itself):
perms_groups.txt
perms_users.txt
(replace sk89q with your username)
There’s a list of permissions, on the Worldedit Wiki which can help you if you want to further specify permissions
I had the same problem described above and solved it by adding all the minecraft.commands to my perms. I use Groupmanager. I found this information at: http://wiki.bukkit.org/CraftBukkit_Commands
The new perms are listed under Mojang Permission on the spreadsheet.
I suspect bukkit is being phased out to be replaced by a Microsoft system under the heading of Mojang.
Regardless, I no longer get the dreaded fail message. 🙂

Need help setting up Group Manager
Sorry I’m kind of a noob even though I’ve made many servers before. It’s been a year and a half since my last one though and it seems I’ve forgotten how to set up my global groups.yml and groups.yml properly. I only need permissions for regular players (default) and myself but I’ll be op. The problem is that when I de-op myself I can’t even use /help (it says You do not have permission to use this command.) but I also can’t use other commands I want default users to be able to use like /thru (it says You are not permitted to do that. Are you in the right mode?). Everything works fine if I’m op.
Well, bloody hell. They dropped the download. Still works on many servers, but as for new downloads. >.>
Guess I’ll have to bite the bullet and say PEX has won the permissions war, so to speak, at long last, and that it may be worthwhile to make a test build of your server to plan for conversion if you can’t get Gm to work.
Did you try the EssX Gm that was right below the download link for the essentials?
And that’s also assuming you wiped out the older versions.
GroupManager is just fine with 1.10. Go find «EssentialsX».
I’ve seen people have many more headaches with PEX than GM in 1.10.
if that didn’t work try whitelisting the server, delete the essentials and groupmanager and make the server create new files for them.
if that didnt work then that might be a problem in craftbukkit or the version of the server or yet.
I keep trying and failing to upload this screenshot. here
That’s weird, generally when you first put the essentials and groupmanager plugin into your server. it setups /help for default. Was it like that when you first used the plugins?
and tell me the versions of essentials and groupmanager and the links from where you downloaded them. I wanted to check if it’s the plugin problem or something in the config
Also, I tested your groups.yml and globalgroup.yml in my server and /help worked so it might be the plugin problem or some other plugin preventing it like having both Groupmanger and PermissionsEx
trying putting your groupmanager and essentials in your desktop and try these to see if same problem is still there
your group.yml is fine but your globalgroups.yml is not
my globalgroups.yml file:
g:essentials_default:
permissions:
— essentials.help
— essentials.helpop
— essentials.list
— essentials.motd
— essentials.rules
— essentials.spawn
— essentials.jail.allow.help
— essentials.jail.allow.helpop
— essentials.jail.allow.rules
/help is from essentials plugin so you should have it under g:essentials_default

Groupmanager/Permissions not working right. «You are not permitted to use, interact. ston_plate, dirt..etc»
Hello i have just recently created my server and i have been doing fine until now. I was getting prepared to begin allowing users to enter the server, when i encountered this problem.
«You are not permitted to use, interact. «. It seems when i de op, i can not touch or do anything. (when i am op, i can) This is a problem. i would like to permit new user or just the guest group to follow their set permissions..Ideally i would like all groups to work right.
The code for the GroupManager config.yml file is:
world:
world_nether:
— users
— groups
world_the_end:
— users
— groups
all_unnamed_worlds:
— users
— groups
guest:
guest:
— users
Additionally, there are four separate folders within «/groupmanager/worlds/guest, mainland (my main world), world, all_unnamed_worlds
The code for «groups.yml» located inside Groupmanager/worlds/guest is:
# Group inheritance
#
# Any inherited groups prefixed with a g: are global groups
# and are inherited from the GlobalGroups.yml.
#
# Groups without the g: prefix are groups local to this world
# and are defined in the this groups.yml file.
#
# Local group inheritances define your promotion tree when using ‘manpromote/mandemote’
groups:
guest:
default: true
Permissions:
— randomtp.portal*
— essentials.build*
— essentials.help
— essentials.kits.guest
— essentials.build.interact.
Info:
build: true
prefix: ‘[Guest]’
I have set build to true, and gave the permission node to build and interact, yet in the game it seems these permissions are not working. However, i would like to add that the code must not be all wrong becuase the prefix ‘[guest]’ does appear in the game for the guest group.
