You have mod sources that are duplicate within your system
Hi. I’ve bought the game several months before release and I’ve played it on and off the whole time. I love playing it and I finally decided to try adding a mod to it. I’m trying to follow the instructions for the Treecapitator mod, which requires Minecraft Forge. I’ve followed the instructions for Forge, which for the latest version just called for an installer to be downloaded and ran, which created a profile called «Forge» in the new 1.6.1 launcher. It seems to be running fine but when I follow the further instructions for Treecapitator, putting the bspkrs core zip in my mods folder and then the Treecapitator.jar, and run the game it comes up with an error that says:
«Forge Mod Loader has found a problem with your minecraft installation. You have mod sources that are duplicate within your system.
Mod Id: File name
TreeCapitator: [1.6.1]TreeCapitator.Forge.1.6.1.r01.Uni.CoreMod.jar».
As far as I can tell the mod version matches up with my Minecraft version and it’s not causing it to crash. I can’t see the main menu until I click around blindly, and then I’ll find one of the buttons and the menu will come up normally. I can try loading a world, but then it just sticks on the loading screen without doing anything at all, still not crashing.
I’ve googled this problem and either no one has gotten help with this issue or someone says «delete the duplicates», which I don’t have. I’ve reinstalled Minecraft and tried from scratch and I get this far again. Minecraft Forge installed fine but Treecapitator doesn’t. I haven’t tried any other mods other than the Timber mod, which does cause a crash but I think that’s just because it might be out of date. And no, I’m not trying them both at the same time. Also, no I’m not trying Forge AND Mod Loader at the same time.

did you by chanse add both the all in one jar (just labeled buildcraft-x.x.x) and all the module jars (buildcraft-module-x.x.x)? if so remove the modules, the all in one jar contains all the modules already

Perhaps, right here, it could be clearly stated something like: «The all-in-one jar is recommended over the modular jars. In addition, the core module includes the lib module. Installing both modules together will be loaded as a duplicate.»
It could also be that this person downloaded compat, but that is clearly stated that it’s in the all-in-one now.

I have found a temporary fix for this
While your loading the game, have your mods folder open wherever it is, and before the Mojang screen pops up, quickly delete the thaumictinker 2.0-38.jar and tconstruct_1.6.4_1.5.1.jar
This has worked for me, i hope it works for you good luck
duplicate millenaire wont start
when trying to load new world now i get a message that there is duplicate millenaires when there is not?
plz help i really liked this mod.
I’m having this same issue, a clean install of FTB has not fixed it. It started happening to me after the recent launcher update.
Edit: Also having the Duplicate mod error on my second PC, fresh install.
yea also in the file, there is no millenaireat just minecraft, it all in the mod section but there is 3 files. millenaire, millenaire-custom, and millenaire-jar-5.1.11
also if this helps it also says on the screen «forge mod loader has found a problem with your minecraft installation. you have mod sources that are duplicate within your system. Mod Id: File name
Same problem, happened when I updated the launcher. I did not update any packs
Have the same problem, found the conflicting file which is the Mill.class file in ‘\NewWorldModPack\minecraft\mods\millenaire-jar-5.1.11\org\millenaire\common\forge’ while deleting the file lets minecraft load it seems to break millenaire so no idea where to go from here. Tried it with a completely fresh install aswell and only deleting that file but still just breaks the mod

I tried using a different build of forge, and that didn’t fix it either. I think the devs of millenaire and forge are going to have to have a talk
Here’s what I did after I got the error:
I launched New World, Millénaire was working, even found a village, though the entity textures were missing (chests, villagers etc.).
I looked up the log and got several warnings like this one:
(is german pc ok)
Loading a second mod??
Hi. I have my first mod up and running in Mcreator but as there are over 100 models in it and it’s getting full. I’ve tried creating a second mod from scratch with new models but the game crashes. it says there is a problem with the two mods. I’m hoping this is a common problem but I don’t know how to get around this. Can you guys advise please?
Ok, a little more onfo. the failure message reads. ‘Forge Mod Loader has found a problem with your minecraft installation. You have a mod sources that are duplicate within your system. Mod id: file name, mod name: Mods 03.jar, modname: My New Mod v 2.jar’.
Mods 03 is my original mod that has 100+ items in it. My New Mod v 2 is the new one that only has three items, these new items/models don’t excist in the original mod so I can’t see how they can conflict.
I think I’ve just sussed it out. I made sure I changed completely the name of my second mod and realised I had doubled up on two of my models. My new (second) mod is being recognised in (Forge) and I’m able to use the new models. well pleased.
