I get the error whenever I try to activate Windows Server
The Software Licensing Service reported that the application is running within the valid grace period.
It is Windows Server Standard R2 SP2 and it is legal. I downloaded It from Dreamspark Sometime around 2010

We are getting this error on 2 Windows 2008 boxes, both recently built.
We are a MS Gold partner and are definitely within licencing rights. We installed from the proper ISO’s on MSDN download.

You totally missed Paul’s issue.
He is not having problems with «validation», it is «activation» that he is requesting help with (2008 like all WIN OSes indeed has to be ACTIVATED). You should «Unmark as Answer» your answer.
