Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

You are going to read the text aloud. You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently, and then be ready to read it aloud. Remember that you will not have more than 2 minutes for reading aloud.

Cats and people have been living together for thousands of years. Nowadays, domestic cats are extremely popular pets. According to statistics, they are even more popular than dogs. There is no doubt that cats love people as much as people appreciate them. Maybe it’s because cats and humans share some physiological traits. For instance, a cat’s brain is more similar to a human brain than a dog’s. The regions of the brain responsible for emotion are identical in both humans and cats. Cats also have A and B blood types, just like people.

● what means of public transport is the most popular in your hometown;

● what environmental problems caused by cars exist in your hometown;

● whether the bicycle is a popular means of transport in your hometown; why / why not.

ВАШ ВОЗМОЖНЫЙ ОТВЕТ:

Using public transport is very convenient. However, it can cause some environmental problems.

I think that the most popular means of public transport in our city is the Metro. It’s faster than any other public transport. It is also more comfortable than say, buses or trolleybuses.

As far as I know, the biggest enviromental problem is air polution which is caused by cars. There are a lot of cars in our city. They produce a lot of unhealthy smog. Sometimes when you are walking along a street it’s hard to breath because of car fumes.

I guess bicycles are getting more and more popular in our city. The city government is going to make a special lane for bicyclers, although not all motorists like it. Frankly speaking, bicycles are not as popular here as say, in Europe but I hope that soon they will reach the same popularity.

In contemporary society, the introduction of motor vehciles has had profound influences on people’s livestyle and environment. Apparently, an increasing number of automobiles brought efficiency, but it also arose a range of problems in urban areas. There are two primary problems are caused by this phenomenon.

On one hand, it is widely accepted that the numerous automobiles pose serious air pollution problems. Fossil fuel combustion, particularly as it occurs in motor vehicles, has been identified as the largest contributor to air pollution in the world. In addition, harmful gases, dusts and noises that are emitted by vehicles cause severe irritations to people’s eyes, lungs and other organs. Hence, not only does the chemical pollutant exert negative impacts on our environment, it also affects one’s mental and physical well-being.

On the other hand, excessive usage of private cars are potentially responsible for traffic problems in major metropolises, such as traffic jam and car accident. It is common today that people stuck in the middle of their journey where the traffic moved in a extremely low speed during rush hours due to the crowded road conditions. Furthermore, it is no deny that the rate of accidents increased rapidly in decades compare to the past. For instance, in some countries, the death rate related to car accidents even excess the birth rate. Therefore, it poses a great threat to people’s lives and brings vast financial loss to families and the society as whole.

To address above problems, proper steps need to be taken by government and relevant authorities. Firstly, encouraging private car owners to travel by public transports rather than to drive their owns would release the pressures of the roads and environment. Hence, more funds should be invested to road infrastructures and facilities to enhance the conditions of public transportation. Moreover, reducing the tickets price to attract more people to take the advantage, and introducing effective rules and regulations to strength the traffic control, are possible approaches to solve the problems.

In conclusion, so complex is the issue that it remains a long-term task to overcome. However, I believe, with concerted efforts made by government and individuals, we can create a cleaner and more safety future for later generations.

.
Very well written Jesss. Well done.

Nowadays the Internet has become really popular. We can’t live without it now.

Personally, I can’t imagine modern life without the Internet. We buy train tickets through the Internet. We communicate with each other by the Internet, I mean Skype, and different messengers like WhatsApp or Viber. A lot of people watch Internet Television. It’s in every sphere of our life.
As for me, I use Skype to talk with my friends and relatives. I correspond with my friends and watch different movies on-line. My friends use it the same way. Some of them also play computer games and have on-line battles.
The Internet helps me a lot with my studies. I find there plenty of useful information I need for my lessons. I ask questions about different school subjects on-line. There are people on the Internet who can help you with many different educational questions.
That’s all I wanted to say.

Task 3

You are going to give a talk about learning English. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes (10-12 sentences).

Remember to say:

● what means of public transport is the most popular in your hometown;

● what environmental problems caused by cars exist in your hometown;

● whether the bicycle is a popular means of transport in your hometown; why / why not.

You have to talk continuously.

That’s all I wanted to say.

Task 3

You are going to give a talk about learning English. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes (10-12 sentences).

Remember to say:

● what your favourite animals are, and why;

● what people should do to protect endangered animals;

● whether zoos are a good thing or not, and why.

You have to talk continuously.

Protecting animals is something worth doing regardless whether they are endangered or not.

My favorite animals are hamsters and cats. When I was little I kept hamsters as pets. Then my parents bought me a cat. He is still living with us. I like him a lot. Hamsters and cats make me feel good.
I think people should stop killing endangered animals. There is a special book called “The Red List” where all endangered species are writen down to protect them. It’s forbidden to hunt these animals.
I believe that zoos are a good thing. In well managed zoos animals are well kept and properly fed. If they need veternarian help, they get it right away. Each animal’s living quarters are made as close to the natural places they inhabit. Children and adults learn about animals that they could see in real life and they would never see, since meeting them where they live might be dangerous.
That’s all I wanted to say.

Task 3

You are going to give a talk about learning English. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes (10-12 sentences).

Remember to say:

● why most people like travelling;

● what people usually do when they visit a new place;

● what place you would like to visit one day.

You have to talk continuously.

Travelling gives a lot of joy and positive emotions. Nowadays people can’t imagine their lives without travels.

I think that people like travelling because they like to learn new things. It’s interesting to see other countries, different cultures, and learn new languages.
I guess when people visit new places they learn new information about these places, take pictures, read about the history of these places, and buy souvenirs.
Personally, I would like to visit Thailand. I have never been to Thailand but I’ve heard a lot of good things about this country. The food is fantastic there. The weather is really friendly at about +30 C all year. It’s quitecheap to have a vacation there. Many people from all over the world go there to take a restful vacation. There are a lot of Russians there as well.
That’s all I wanted to say.
